I sent an email to JXd recently and got a reply. If you can decipher what they are saying exactly, then your deciphering is better than mine.

My email:

"Hi,

Can you tell me please if you still sell the JXD S192 gaming handheld?

Also, when can we expect new gaming handheld products from JXD?

Thanks"

Their Responce:

"yes, but it don't finish manufacture now,i think yu need pay more attention to our website."

Jxd has lost their minds pricing the rk3288 RockChip model S192 at $399.
Completely. Even with tegra k1 would be expensive at 399

JXD just responded to me about the S192RK. They said it is planned to launch April / May for ~ $339 with free shipping.
They confirmed it will run on the RK3288

I really feel for these guys.   Thats going to be a very tough sell as we discussed before

Man Jxd would have a repeat buyer in me if they lowered the price of the new Singularity S192k.  http://www.jxd.hk/game-console/s192-rk/

What is happening with the RK3399  .   I wonder if Rockchip had issues with it or something, seems a long time comming.   Would have hoped JXd would have used it in the S192

I guess rk3399 wasn't ready in time? What I do know is that by using a rk3288 the new Jxd Singularity S192k is vastly overpriced at $339-$399.

Rockchip is not making rk3399 boards for tablets, only for tvboxes and chromebooks. That's why gpd also put in standby the xd2. I have a rk3399 box though and its performance is good but not extraordinary.

Seems a really weird decision by Rockchip, and I imagine a lot of companies that would have been waiting to use the RK3399 are now very dissapointed.

Seems Rockchip were on the rise, now they seem to be taking a back step

The incursion of Intel in tablets have nade that most arm companies don't sell many tablets, so i suppose rockchip has followed amlogic's path, which is to Focus on tvbox and other gadgets to compete with amlogic.

All I can say is that they must sell well in China, becuase in the west, it's a hard sell at those prices when compared to say the Nvidia Shield TV

I agree, I doubt the RK3399 will be a high seller. Most people that want a cheap tvbox just buy an amlogic one. And those that want also a gamng machine go for shield tv, so RK3399 is in the middle and is quite buggy in fact at the moment, Perhaps only Linux can give RK3399 a different approach.
