If you buy a new tablet, it also runs on 4.4. That is what is factory-flashed to the Nvidia K1.

The update comes OTA and will of course be able to the K1 chip in the JXD s192.

My k1 came with 5.1.1 (perhaps because is the latest k1 model). I have my doubts JXd updates as fast as Nvidia. JXd has never been known for providing great updates or great firmwares. But maybe this time they have learned...... We'll see it,

Exactly. The 4.2 thing has been there since a year ago. It simply hasn't been updated.
I wouldn't worry.

It looks like Geekbuying is the cheapest place to buy this device.

JXD is selling it at $339, whereas Geekbuying is selling at $289.99 (after the coupon).

I promised myself some time ago that I wouldn't buy another Android handheld; but I'm dangerously close to pulling the trigger on this device.

Being able to run Hyperspin seals the deal for me.

I have used hyperspin in my shield tabler and runs pretty badly. It's a pain in the ass to configure it. I prefer Nostalgia frontend.

I didn't realise Nostalgia was on the playstore. I thought it was stuck on the Ouya. Definitely will be using Nostalgia instead of Hyperspin.

Thanks, Skel.
