Hard shell / case for S7800B
« on: December 20, 2013, 03:11:12 am »
Has anyone found a hard case that will fit the s7800b? dont want a soft pouch, the sticks might get damaged. so far i found this but it is wider than this tablet:

http://www.amazon.com/Carrying-Supersonic-SC-97JB-Android-Stylus/dp/B00ABV3M4Y/ref=sr_1_4?m=A1AH1W4I9RGFHX&s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1387509024&sr=1-4&keywords=hard+shell+kroo

any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

same here, looking for a nicer hard case for the s7800... the case Willgoo sells/bundles is more of a sleeve and has a tendency to mash the sticks to one side... while I'm sure it is not a problem for the short term, for the long haul I'm concerned it can cause the sticks to "lean"

while searching to get back to this thread I discovered THIS: alternate thread

the rude people in my head say I should have used the search option before posting... but I think our heart was in the right place.

that said, there are some suggestions for both after market options and one guy that made his own out of an aluminum CD tote (kinda like the nuclear football in looks) which I find irresistibly fun and fancy.

I think I am going to make my own. I am going to make mine out of neoprene and stitched spandex... 'cause why not?!?

Note that the CD case was for the S7300, I thought it would fit the S7800 as I got the measurements off the Dingoonity wiki assuming the depth would include the protrusion of the sticks, however Bargaintuan noted that it doesn't and that the Citronix case is probably too shallow for the S7800. I haven't got a S7800 to try so can't say if it will be ok or not.

Shame as it's the most suitable case I could find.

I will be recieving my new 7800 soon and as soon as I do, I will take my own measurements and see what I can find... in the mean time, I know that particular CD case is too slim, however; I am sure there are variations on that theme that WILL work (some cases are meant to hold more disk sleeves than others).

Besides, manufacturing a case is half the fun!

I have been looking at these cases myself.

Lemmewinks, You have the 127.064UK (40 disk case)

I believe the 127.065UK (80disk, no image) is basically the same case at double the depth... the AV guy I work with swears by Citronic cases and believes the 80 disk case is a good half inch deeper than the 127.064UK.

either way, I am looking at getting one of those AND one of the much larger cases like the 127.064UK or the 127.060UK so I can have the s7800 and a batch of optionals (extra power brick, screen cleaning kit, extra memory cards, kit stand, headset, etc.)

I mean, If I am doing a case, I'M DOING A CASE

 ;D

EDIT: I found the 127.065 (80 disk case), my A/V guy was wrong about that particular model however; this was due to him not knowing the 40 disk case was the one he was actually thinking about. He has the same case and uses it for a mini disk kit. the 126.052UK (40 disk) is actually just larger than the s7800. I will confirm the measurements against his case when it arrives (for obvious reasons, if it fits, I'll have to get my own).

http://dx.com/p/citywolf-protective-dual-zippers-hard-case-bag-w-strap-for-nintendo-wii-u-black-170817

I ordered 2, one black for s7800 and one blue for s7300 but none of them arrived yet.

Based on the WiiU & JXD specs, they will fit in the case.

1 thing I'd suggest for those looking at cases, try to get one that has or will accept a strap.
it'll be more secure while you're walking (hands free).

The one I have is the 40 disc wallet (the 127.052) not the one you mentioned. As has already been suggested this is probably 1-2mm too shallow for the S7800 and all the others are much bigger as they are designed to house CD cases on their end so DJs can flick through them easily. The only slim one is the wallet style I have which luckily is just about perfect for the S7300, it is for keeping loose CDs so is slimmer.

That might work I think people have said the 7800 is almost the same size as a Wii U.

Does'nt look like it has much room for accessories.

I find more and more stuff I want to carry with mine.. Now that i've tried HDMI out and it looks great I find my self wanting ot carry around a usb hub and controllers but that's a lot of bagage.

That's interesting with the WiiU case, it would be great if it fit. There has to be some high quality hardware out there that has very similar dimensions. A Wii U case would be quality if it actually fit correctly, I'd probably buy one.

The wii u controller is marginally bigger than the jxd, the biggest difference being the thickness. So the jxd will fit with room to spare meaning you can line the case with foam for proper protection.

Sweet deal I might look up some other Wii U cases then. By the looks of it you might want to replace those elastic straps with something a little tighter and tougher.

Edit:
Here's the dimension comparison in inches for those interested.

JDX S7800b :
L: 9.6"
W: 4.7"
H: 0.6"

Wii U Gamepad :
L: 10.2"
W: 5.3"
H: 0.9"

Timber I think the S7800 measurements don't take the sticks into account, I think you're looking at about 22mm thinkness or something like that, almost a full inch. I don't have one to test btw but it's worth taking into account.

This would fit, far too wide but plenty of room for accessories:

Probably worth looking at pistol cases as they might be a good option, Plano and Flambeau do really cheap ones already foam lined:
http://www.uttings.co.uk/p105076-flambeau-small-pistol-case-6445sc/#.UsIdcrQ0rMw

Microphone cases would also be suitable, a lot are expensive though:

Little tool boxes might be ok too:

Also the aluminium cases that poker sets come in might be suitable.

To be honest you might be best taking the console to a local hardware or gun store and seeing what they have, I've done it before with amplifier heads. Got some funny looks in B&Q walking around putting a bass amp in their tool cases but found a really good fitting case for a great price.

This one has better elastic straps than some other Wii U cases, and I was thinking on use the other space to carry a mini keyboard.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVA-Travel-Carry-Case-Cover-Bag-Pouch-Sleeve-for-Nintendo-Wii-U-Gamepad-/141135208516?pt=US_Video_Game_Cases_Bags&hash=item20dc506044

On other hand it has the horrible Wii U silhouette, maybe you can hide some compatible stylus behind the tablet in that space.

I picked up a cd sleeve case from my local 99p store, its internal dimensions are 145mm x 270mm x 40mm.

I'm thinking this would work with enough room for thumb sticks as well.

Its the same as this one,
