Are you happy with your JXD S7800B?

Just wondering what the consensus is around here regarding JXD's newest member of the gaming tablets with physical gaming controls.
JXD currently have 5 billion products online for purchase with none of them being a worldwide hit.  8)


nvidia SHIELD = The best!

ya i'd rather have a locked down sony product on android where you couldnt use an emulator or half the playstore Not!!! lol i'm buying the ps4 tho..lol

What's with the troll posts lately... I wonder if Nvidia is worried enough to send their trolls over here to astroturf. And I hope that's not SONY from the pandora boards... :|

Yes. I wanted a big screen for good portable emulation and that's what I got. If the screen was smaller I wouldn't have bought it and the emulation is perfect with a lot of emulators.
Whenever people post about the issues they have with this thing, I always think "that's really minor" or "I don't even have that issue".
Right now I'm having a lot of fun with MAME. RetroArch seems like the best choice, it uses mame set 0.78 and has much higher rom compatibility than mame4droid.

Pretty much what I think of it. Retroarch is great on this thing and playing Street Fighter 3 on the go is amazing. The D-pad is surprisingly good too.

It's called justifying a purchase, he's spent a lot of money on other handhelds so feels the need to belittle what other people have bought, basically reinforcing his previous decisions with post purchase rationalisation. More cognitive dissonance than trolling, still f**ked up though. To be fair it is limited to just a few posters, most people who bought a Shield or GP2 are probably just happily playing games on it.

I think it's still early days to judge an Android handheld like this, user opinions tend to dip when they arrive (high expectations combined with bugs and niggles in the stock firmware) and then they just get better with official and community updates/firmwares.

I remember when I got my S7300 I was a little disappointed but as soon as people started working on it I started to love it, culminating in excellent custom firmwares which make it a great device IMO. Hopefully the S7800 will get community support and JXD will release the ever-critical sources.

I don't care if S7800 will be "international hit" or not. I usually buy things for some other reason.
Playing with my S7800b for couple of weeks by now, and I'm entirely happy with it so far.
