Does anyone know if its possible to have video coming out of the HDMI but audio from the headphone jack?

On my samsung S5 A/V comes out of the HDMI but plug in headphones and audio comes from that socket instead.

You may be asking/ wondering why the hell would i want to do that? Well i have a projector that doesnt have HDMI on it so i am using a HDMI to DVI adapter but need to route the sound from the headphone to the jack instead.

The projector has lots of different connectors, audio in/ out, RCA Phono, VGA in/ out, DVI ect ect but nothing suitable that i can get going together !

Maybe there is an app to do it? or a patch i can run. please someone help!

Want to play games. films on a 10 Ft screen :-)

If it's component or DVI yeah you should do although I'm no expert.

Something like this lead should do trick but you would also need a HDMI mini adapter..

No i dont think that will work as it is component (digital) and RCA/Phono video (Yellow) is analogue.

I need a HDMI to Yello/ Red/ White cable to do it OR a way to get audio from the headphone jack. as i already have a HDMI to DVI adapter.

Wellllll this is an expensive solution but something like this would work

It sits between the device and the display and extracts the audio and will output to analog.

Im in the UK so would need something from amazon.co.uk or Ebay.co.uk

Ive seen a similar device for about ?30 GBP on ebay that converts HDMI to Phono which would also work i guess.

Well you didn't mention you didn't have component. You said it had loads of connection, names some and then said "etc etc etc" so I assumed it would have component as it's pretty standard.

Ahh sorry no, its a Mitsubishi XD460U which i got for free new in box with a spare bulb, the unit is new as in useage but old (4 years? ) in terms of technology.

This is the back of it.

I'm trying to make it work just because i didnt pay for it :-)

Setup:
Mini hdmi to hdmi > hdmi to vga converter with audio > done

That is actually what I have done and working.

I can't seem to find a female HDMI to VGA adapter. Can you post a link or picture? I found a mini HDMI to HDMI lead but it has a male connector on the end.

Setup:

JXD S7800 > mini hdmi (male) to hdmi (female)
> hdmi (male) to vga with audio (female)
> vga cable (male to male) > display with vga port (female)

Works like a charm.

is that hdmi->vga adapter a box?
VGA is analog, hdmi is digital so I don't see how a passive cable will do the job.
Far as I know there is no legacy VGA signal on HDMI.

It is a box but doesn't require power to convert hdmi to vga.

Okie dokie! Sorry to be anal about this but I already spent ?16 on a cable that did not work

I'm trying to find a nice thin Mini HDMI to female cable but so far all I can see is small cheap adapters that may put strain on the socket.
