[Best for S7800B] RetroArch Nightly (Updated: 2014-01-11)
« on: January 02, 2014, 06:36:20 pm »
This is nightly version of RetroArch(https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch) Android.

There are some noticeable features in latest version:
* Better GUI
* Autodetect JXD S7800B Controller
* Fixes app background key hungup bug(if app goes background, it loses keymap data so unable to control with hardware keys)

------------------------
Update log

2014-01-05
* Re-compiled all cores from source, can be buggy. (except mame2013 core that I was unable to compile it.)
* Added autodetect_ignore_special_keys option - S7800B users should enable this option!
You can activate this setting in Input tab, this will solve with volume/back/menu button problem.
(I have submitted fix but not yet merged officially, anyway it's included in this build)

2014-01-07
* This is nightly build with cores from Google Play Store v1.0.0.0 release.

2014-01-11
* Fixed custom binds (kind of)
* autodetect_ignore_special_keys now ignores power button too.

------------------------

You have to uninstall app before install new version to use new cores.

Was that the bug with hardware key assign that didn't work in games, event though they were set in input menu?

I installed it last night but I had a problem
When I first went into the menu the jxd controls were auto assigned I thought great!
Went into a game, came back to menu then closed app
Launched it again and no controls?
It didn't save my screen settings either even tho I saved before exiting
This was with final burn btw

I think it's broken on latest code but you can still use autodetect.

Don't press system buttons(menu, home, volume, etc) when you're back in game.
(It makes RetroArch think another controller is plugged so you will be Player 2)

Move analog or press DPAD/ABCD buttons first then it works great.

I hope keymapping issue are fully fixed in next stable version.

i had no problem with outrun on mame core in last version he said this has no emulation improvements so i cant see how this one will fix your problem.

Ah notice its only using MAME CORE 0.78, that would explain why its running ok for you. As the RetroArk i use has MAME CORES 0.139 & 0.150

So usually I use NEO.Emu, and aFBA to play my Neo Geo games, but I decided to see how RetroArch works. Using the fba Core my Neo Geo roms won't run, any idea why? Also what are the best Cores to use for each console?

Hey, thanks
The controls work great now
I love the new ui that's been implemented
With lots more options

Although for some reason mame and PS runs a lot slower on this build
Painfully slower?????

There's a new release of Retroarch in the Play Store now. I would recommend that over the nightly builds. The nightly builds don't seem to be optimized. The new release supports the S7800 pretty well from what I've seen so far.

Maybe It's problem of cores which built by myself.

Great news.

I've uploaded nightly version of RetroArch with officially built cores.
(Since my fix is pretty useful but not yet merged to official branch.)

I'm having trouble with the most recent Play Store version of RetroArch. It recognizes the JXD S7800B gamepad, but none of the buttons respond. Any thoughts?

The build of Retroarch in the playstore,  keeps saying unfortunately retroarch has stopped,  trying to load Baku Baku Animal on Mame,  but the menus scroll down and disappear.  Why is retroarch so hard to use.
