RDP into Gdp Win solution
« on: January 25, 2017, 10:00:28 pm »
The Gpd Win runs Windows 10, which from what I can tell does not support RDP.  I did find a tool that did work though, rdpwrap.

https://github.com/stascorp/rdpwrap

Run the install.bat as Admin and you can then RDP in.

I find RDP'ing in useful for installing stuff, changing settings, etc.  Much easier than using the built in keyboard.

You can enable RDP on all modern Windows Versions... No need for a shady 3rd party tool.

Windows 10 Home doesn't have the RDP server (only Pro does). Check out Compare Windows 10 Editions specifically under the "Windows fundamentals" section.

Correct, the tool is needed for the Home version and works fine.

Another alternative is splashtop. For certain things it's better than RDP.

I use UltraVNC Server 1.2.1.2 with the mirror driver which works fairly well for me.

Ooh, VNC is pretty painful. I would highly recommend splashtop or RDPWrap rather than VNC.

Or just pay for the upgrade to Win10Pro from ebay or another cheap source with a serial number.

Ultravnc is not bad at all as long as the mirror driver is loaded.
