Project Phoenix - 3DO emulation on the GPD Win
« on: May 12, 2017, 12:27:43 pm »
Project Phoenix makes it possible to emulate 3DO games on the GPD Win. It's also possible to emulate Atari Jaguar and SEGA but I didn't try them out on the GPD Win. It's supposed to be 100% 3DO compatible but the first game that I've tried out didn't work. I did try out some other games and they did run full speed without any problems.

Project Phoenix can be downloaded here: http://www.arts-union.ru/node/23

It's Russian language only but the English translation can be downloaded here: http://ngemu.com/threads/phoenix-project-3do-emulator-translated-into-english.191753/

Edit: Fix for games that makes the emulator unresponsive is to use Phoenix V2.0 to build the 3DO CD image FSTree file that the emullator needs. I could get Super Wing Commander working just fine after making the FSTree file with Phoenix V2.0 with the updated emulator.  :)

The performance is very good. I also tried 4DO on the GPD Win but it's not as good as Phoenix. The sound is still terrible with the latest 4DO version and changing the sound settings doesn't make it any better.

Edit: 3DO game Super Wing Commander with Project Phoenix on the GPD Win: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bz_nLxu6F0
