I don't know, maybe it's just booting to amiga cd32 bios. I only tried with a couple of games and worked fine for me, so not sure why it's not working on yours.

I think  I didnt hit "reset' while trying to change games.  it seems to work now..for battlettoads..  Im trying to press buttons to start the game but nothings really happening.
I just selected 'dpad as mouse for port 0  and dpad as cd32 for port 1... seems thats the best bet.   Is that what you do?
Also, is there a way to get rid of the on screen buttons?

@cylondroid597 Thank you for the list man, appreciate it.

I apologize for bugging you guys again with more questions, but I am having some trouble with retroarch still.
Firstly and most importantly, is there a way to delete unwanted cores?
Also I am not able to figure out how to adjust the on screen overlay to my liking, I would like to not see it at all or at least less, I know some of the buttons are necessary. I want to mention just for heck of it's case, what is up with the keyboard button on the bottom middle, as soon as you hit it it drops the overlay and you can not do anything?
Lastly was there implications that I can play Neogeo games with the final burn alpha core, because retroarch won't even acknowledge my neogeo roms?

If you want to delete cores you have to do it manually, going to data/retroarch/cores folder. It needs a root explorer and root access.
To disable overlay just go to overlay settings and disable it.
neogeo roms work ok with fba core, make sure you are using correct bios and fba romset for neogeo. FBA uses 0.2.97.39 romset, the latest one.

For default core pass is: /data/data/com.retroarch/cores/

You don't need overlay with virtual buttons at all.
Go to Settings -> Onscreen Display -> Onscreen Overlay -> and turn it off.
Also in control settings you need to set button combination to call "quick menu", i prefer L3+R3.
And i recommend you to change menu look in Settings/Driver/Menu Driver.
Just try Xmb menu, it looks exactly like PS4 menu, and It's much easier to navigate in it.

Hey Moff, how did you configure the L3+R3 button combination to go back to Retroarch's menu?

I've set the Retroarch Quick Menu to my L1 button only, but in MAME, when I need to navigate in the system selection screen (which uses L1 as the TAB key to jump between panels) it quits MAME and go back to Retroarch's quick menu. So I need to set a key combination such as you did to be able to use L1 as the MAME TAB key only. And If I'm not mistaken, Retroarch's key bindings doesn't allow you to set every GPD physical buttons, some of them are not even recognized by Retroarch.

By the way, if I do a mistake while mapping a key in the Key Bindings menu, how can I undo the key input and get it back to the default value in Retroarch?

To set a combo for quick menu there is an option under input called menu toggle gamepad combo and pick your combo (I also use l3 + r3, but there are others like select and start).
In key bindings you can select all button from GPD XD except back key, home or menu buttons which are a keyboard device and not gamepad buttons.
If you want to set controls to the defaults use user 1 bind all and map all buttons as you want,
