You tried on Legacy Rom ? The newer official firmware has some issues with 3D games.
Yes, reicast has some issues : it still doesn't support Aarch64 and it likes to randomly crash depending on the optimisations
and the compiler used.

Note that all games are not compatible : Le Mans & Shenmue 2 are two games known are crashing right after the introduction screen.
Games like Power Stone on the other hand still work though.

The devs plan on making a kickstarter campaign to address the flaws of Reicast and finally work full-time on it.

That would be some terrific news!

You need to uninstall gamepad assistant app (bitgames centre) for reicast to work.

Yes. I thougt it could be. On the error log always problems with the input device and java...
So.
Does i need the gamepad assistant?
Do the gamepad work also without this program? Or is it enough to deactivate it?

Thx

There are 2 apps with similar name, I am referring to the gamepad assistant, when you open this gamepad assistant app, it takes you to bitgames centre.

Added: Don't uninstall the Gamepad app (for on-screen buttons mapper). Uninstalling the Gamepad Assistant app doesn't affect the on-screen buttons mapper nor the functionality of the physical gamepad buttons on the GPD XD.

Hi.

I deinstalled the gamepad assistant (with the game center)
And also deactivated (temporary) the gamepad onscreen.
But.
Reicast also crashes. I have no clue. Sometimes it loaded the game and runs.
But on second start it crashes...

May I suggest you reinstall reicast using the latest build from here http://builds.reicast.com/

And also follow the tutorial from here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMm83pOiRmw&t=121s

Are you using CDI or GDI images? I've been using the latest build with no crashes so far. Also, i'm using legacy rom.

I'm on stock firmware. Not all games run well with some graphic error.

Are you using stock firmware? If that's the case I suggest you remove bitgames assistant app because it breaks reicast. After that, latest builds should work ok.

I will try that and let you know how it goes.  Thanks!

Try my build of reicast, optimised for cortex-a15 :
https://gameblabla.nl/files/reicast/reicast-cortexa15.apk

I might upload a more optimized one for the GPD XD with its Cortex-A17.

Tell me if this works properly on your XD, it works on my Fire HD.

Awesome!

Works like a charm! Thanks so much.  I never used that Gamepad Assistant anyways.  ;D

Hi, I dont know what "the hell" you did but somehow you improved compatibility of the emulator with this release.
Few examples that dont work on official build, but do on yours:

- Ecco the dolphin - defender of the future
- Gauntlet Legends

A very few graphical glitches appeared on some games like Daytona USA btw.....

Seems the team over at REICAST released a new build... 5/15/17

Can anyone confirm if Shenmue 2 works on this build? Thanks!

The commit doesn't seem to include something New. Can be seen un their github.

https://github.com/reicast/reicast-emulator/commits/master

This emu is pretty abandonned. I heard they were looking external financing to dedicate more hours to development. I think shenmue 2 worked in previous build, isn't It? With some glitches though, but not sure.

Reicast has so much potential. Honestly i never understood why they didn't took the same approach as Exophase did with DraStic, putting a fair price. I would like to play more Dreamcast games, but the lacking of save states and game shark support it's not so great for me.
