Navigation issue with OhBoy build 20141110
« on: December 03, 2014, 03:43:59 pm »
Related to OhBoy release 20141110: http://boards.dingoonity.org/gcw-releases/ohboy/
-----------------------------------------------

I'm having a application crashing issue when I try to open my ROMs directory. When I try to navigate to /usr/local/home/ROMs/ in the "Main Settings" > "ROM Path" option on OhBoy's main menu, the application will crash when I attempt to open this directory and it takes me back to gcw's home screen. Has anyone else has this sort of issue either with this or loading a similar directory from the "Load ROM" option in OhBoy's main menu?

try saving your roms inside media/data/roms/

i always save all my roms there and i've never had any problem with any emulator.

/media/data/local/home/ is the correct path to the home folders. Try that.

Probably it's unnecessary (but that's not bad to remember it! ;) ): the first thing is to be sure that in your device is installed the latest firmware!

sorry no sir. still get the same error. this won't help. everybody don't try this at home. the source of this error is not where you saved your Gameboy games because i saved a game Donkey-Kong 1994 for GB in my music folder(/media/home/Music/)and suprise it works but when i try to start a game from /media/data/local/home/Games folder the application will crash.

of course i installed the latest full firmeware update from http://www.gcw-zero.com/updates. if i see it correctly the latest full update is from 2014-08-20, called gcw0-update-2014-08-20.opk installed with the "GCW Zero Manager".

try media/data/roms/gb/ (or whatever rom directory inside media/data/ but not in media/data/local/home/)
For some reason, ohboy's rom browser has problems with the local/home directory.

Or wait till the next release, which will trash the rom browser and use gmenu2x rom browser instead.
