I having trouble getting the overlays to appear.

When using Filezilla, I can see the overlay images in this directory: home/.vectrex/over, so I know they're there.

The overlay for Mine Storm is there when the program loads up and is there for that game.

The option for overlays is set to yes.

Do the rom/bins have to have the same name as the overlays?

What am I missing/not understanding here?

The names of ROMs and the names of the overlays must be corresponding (uppercase and lowercase included).
e.g.
ROM name: armor.bin
overlays names: armor_norm.png and armor_rot90.png

PS: in other words, the ROMs must have the same names of the overlays without "_norm" or "_rot90".

That did the trick - thanks!

Gotta try this out! Big Vectrex fan, here- I keep my Vectrex on my bedside table.

Though nothing beats the real deal, the fact that it's emulated on a handheld is truly fantastic. :)

thanks for getting this emulator running on the zero=)

one glitch ive noticed is that after switching games, the previous overlay(s) remain stacked under the current overlay. this happened on the legacy dingux port of vectrex too.

I don't spot this glitch, I switched various games and every times the previous overlay was replaced with the next one accurately!

Forgive me if I've overlooked it, but has the analog stick been implemented?  I've gone through the settings multiple times, but I just can't find it...  thanks.

A Vectrex on your nightstand - that's pretty sweet Chiba3010.

I have a mini Etch-a-Sketch on my nightstand but I think you got that beat.  :)

In zx81 emulators event poll is a bit weird (or weird for a newbie as I am). I've plans to do a proper transversal update to all emulators and update event poll and surely organize options and change menu styles.

Thanks! Yeah, even three decades later the Vectrex can still impress because it's so unique. There's simply no other console like it. And thankfully they're built like tanks.

Plenty of love for the Etch-a-Sketch, too. Only reason I'd knock it would be to clear the screen for a new creation.

Anyone remember the Etch-a-Sketch Animator and Animator 2000? Those were damn cool as well. :)

Finally got around to trying out this emulator.  Great job on the port!

Been having a lot of fun playing Clay Cowgill's Moon Lander.  Such a nicely put together game, simple and very accessible. If you're a fan of the original arcade Lunar Lander, you'd definitely like Moon Lander!  I've been playing it with no overlay and with a green colour enabled, it looks pretty awesome! Highly recommended.

I was wondering if there's any more work going to be done to this emulator?

If so, could we get the analog stick supported?  It would make games that utilize the vectrex's analog joystick, like for Moon Lander's thrust, much better to play as well as closer to the original experience.

Currently all lines are fairly jagged, I'm assuming because of lack of Anti-aliasing and perhaps a low resolution output? I was also wondering what are the chances of getting in the shaders similar by AAE?

It's probably far-fetched, but I figured I'd ask 'cause emulating that vector glow would be pretty amazing!
