GCW Zero Repository Preview
« on: August 20, 2013, 12:13:55 am »
http://gcw-zero.com/downloads

I'd like to announce a preview release of the official repository for the GCW Zero.

Features:
- File downloads (in the .OPK format);
- Collapsing/uncollapsing individual entries;
- Software previews and descriptions.
- Sorted in descending order (most recent software titles first)

Bug reports and feature requests are welcome.

Features reserved for future releases:
- Category selection;
- Collapsing/uncollapsing all entries;
- Extracting metadata from .OPK files (including icons)
- Image galleries;
- Paid software;
- Search;
- Tags.

Gradually more software will be added that has already been released or is close to being finalized. In the future developers will be able to sign up and upload their own releases (which will be screened).

Looks good. I think you should consider stickying the complete to the General, perhaps in a re-direct, seeing as that's probably the first place new people will check. Just as a "don't ask us where the repository is" measure.

I don't mean to hijack your thread Surkow but ED informed me that files can also be uploaded to the new GP2X archive. It's going to replace the openhandhelds archive and the Zero section is here, http://www.gp32x.com/board/index.php?/files/category/329-gcw-zer0/

Nice.

- needs a comment section for each release.

- needs a link to a thread on the forum (dingoonity or else) so that people can ask questions about each release.

- maybe an RSS feed

There are interesting ideas on the Pandora repo : http://repo.openpandora.org/

I am aware of the Pandora repository (and I'm in touch with the developer). Comment section won't be available until I finish the backend of the CMS. RSS feed is on my todo list.

Yes, there will be a client to manage the files and download them via WiFi.
