GCW-Zero SE unboxing (SPOILERS!)
« on: June 05, 2013, 04:14:09 pm »
Here it is, I'm glad I was home because it was mailed with "Postage Due" stamped on it, apparently it was weighed incorrectly.

EDIT - THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RESOLVED, confirmed by GCW only the first few shipped had the postage issue. The offending postal scale has been replaced under warranty by the US post office. /EDIT

And right, like you're going to Return to Sender over 2 bucks.

Uh oh...  :o

I've been lurking a long time now but I just received my GCW this AM. It did not come with any kind of additional postage fee, my guess is AztroZombie is the exception. I also filled out Articus' form probably 2-3 days after Justin made a post about it - if you haven't received the notification yet, I'm sure it's on the way shortly.

Build quality is very nice and it fits nicely in the hands (especially compared to the Dingoo). I can't speak for the gaming quality just yet but so far it's worth the wait.

I hope it was just me, no big deal.  :)

Did you do the packaging? I don't see that printed anywhere.

Well apparently filling out the form late has no bearing on shipment order so perhaps there are other methods employed... alphabetically perhaps.  :P

It's no biggie, I should expect to wait a bit longer as I've only had my claim on an SE since January.

But still... i'm stoked and anticipation is a [female dog].

Thanks for the unboxing pics. :)

I'm also glad SE customers are receiving their units.  They have waited long enough.

Did the consoles come with a screen protector?  That was one of the reached stretch goals.  If mine (a Kickstarter unit) comes without a screen protector I will be a little pissed (I always install screen protectors on my portable electronic devices) although I will still take it.  I am looking forward to it.

Since my Caanoo broke a little while ago I spent several days installing and configuring Mame on my Mac.  I now play Ms Pac-Man on it pretty much every day.  Once my Zero arrives I will be able to play Ms Pac-Man and King of Fighters in the subway again.

My SE came with the standard plastic covering that goes on top of the screen to prevent scratching. I suppose you could keep it on there for extra protection but I peeled mine off right away.

[Edit]: I didn't poke around with the screen earlier but there is a screen protector on it underneath the peel-off.

That you shall not use GOTOs.
Also, nobody can say now that GCW doesn't have dinosaurs ;)
