Request: Elastomania

This free game is incredibly addictive and would be a blast to have it on a GCW.

There's a clone for Linux called X-Moto: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Moto

Any alternative, either homebrew or through emulation?

X-Moto is a very fun game and I have it on my "Very challenging ports list".  It would take a lot of work to bring it to a 320x240 handheld, mainly because of the GUI not being designed for such a low resolution.  I will probably attempt it, eventually.

I am fairly certain that with a lot of optimization in the GL->OpenGLES conversion, good speeds could be achieved.  I base this on running the game on my old laptop with crappy integrated graphics and the CPU underclocked to 600mhz, where I still had good framerates.  If there is much 64-bit float math in the code, it would gain a lot of speed from being converted to 32-bit float math.

There is another game like this for the gameboy color named after the stuntman Evel Knievel. I had big fun playing it back in highschool and of course I would gladly play the X Moto port.

I remember an old game: Super Scramble Simulator (Magnetic Fields, 1989)... this game was made for many home computers, the best edition should be the Amiga/Atari ST version...

And if you want to go even more old-school you have Kikstart II for the Commodore 64, published by Mastertronic :)

Until you get this on the Zero, you can always try Evel Knievel for the Gameboy Color on the Zero - it still holds up.

I prefer Kikstart on C16 - unfortunately the C16 emulation is a bit neglected, so safegames are not possible in Kikstart...

I've found a DOS version of Elastomania (or maybe a previous game) called Action SuperCross. The problem is that it doesn't work at playable speeds with emulators. I tried it with Dosbox and Zerox86.
