Finally i fixed the latest bugs. You can now play Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3 and Rudra no Hihou on your Dingoo. I also fixed my bug with Demon's Crest, Jurassic Park, Pitfall and Super Metroid.
I added zip rom support and a Menu Option to enable or disable Transparency. Of couse, SDD-1 support is also in to play Star Ocean.

new Features:
+HighRes Support enabled (Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3 & Rudra no Hihou font problems fixed)
+Soul Blazer works now (i think only the german version was not working!?)
+Transparency Menu Option added
+Zipped ROM support (one rom each zip)
+support for SDD1 (Street Fighter Alpha 2, Star Ocean)
+Snes9x is started with 336mhz (can be changed in menu)
+Final Fantasy - Mystic Quest works (but only Final Fantasy - Mystic Quest (U) (V1.0) works)

Issues:
-only the half screen is captured when doing a savestate in a highres game
-scaling disabled (does not work with highres modes)

Compiled against latest toolchain+elta's patches. (use elta's root!)

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
Great! Downloading now!

now i can delete that old version of snes9x i was using to play metroid =)

EDIT:

Are you planning to do more updates?
Can you make a option to save the preferences? Changing the overclocking everytime is a little boring =P

EDIT 2 :

I just tested and found that Metroid have a huge performance drop (432mhz overclocked!), about 5 or 6 fps.
It is more noticeable in areas with transparency, but the ones without suffers too.

And looks like the Transparency option is not working...

Very Very Nice Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
Is there a way to make it run at 430 without having to change it everytime in the menu?

Thanks man!!! Really good work

I just did a test for speed and it isnt the best, ,40fps in secret of mana village on other later ver, compared to 30ps on this ver ,both @ 432 mhz, 10fps is a big difference

But this is really good just for the supported games

Great stuff!! Grin

Just a short explanation, why the speed is lower. The graphic screen is now prerendered in 512x240 instead of 320x240. I try to add an option, to activate/deactivate hiressupport in menu. Then the small speeddrop should only be in highres games as secret of mana.

Snes9x has a lot of different commandline options (but dont ask me what is the best, try yourself). It seems that frameskip improves the most (tested with Mario Kart 17fps@400mhz).

frameskip:
-f 2

soundskip:
-sk 2

no Sound:
-nosound

speedhacks:
-sh

screenmode:
-pal

or

-ntsc

aso.

Hi

Is it possible to have a save setting for each game - like the Mame4all emulator.

For example F-zero plays much better with frameskip set to 2 but if affects all the other games, Addams Family runs far to fast.

So can you add an option to individual save settings, which are then reloaded when the game is run.

Also, if transparency only affects a few games should it not be set to false so I don't have to keep changing it and set default clock speed to 400mhz.

Cheers

also what does -n do?

thanks really cool someone working on snes  Cheesy

>>also what does -n do?
-n is the same as -ntsc, but better use -ntsc. i don't know if it does anything releated to speed.

The number behind frameskip (-f ) is the value. of couse you can change it. If you want no frameskip just remove that option.

>>Is it possible to have a save setting for each game - like the Mame4all emulator.

Possible but not yet. Needs time.

Also, if transparency only affects a few games should it not be set to false so I don't have to keep changing it and set default clock speed to 400mhz.
If there is no transparency, it don't affect anything.
Someone in this forum asked not to change the clockspeed and manually change it. I asked in another thread if someone know how to check the current clockspeed. No one aswers. If i can check it, i can let it as it is, but with a menu option to change the clockspeed, i need to know what is the current. And the easierst way is to set it to an initial clockspeed. But 336mhz is normal for the dinggo.

Maybe i add config file to save the clocksetting. How knows Smiley.

Thanks for working on SA-1 =)

I will check various command line options to see if it does affect performance and post here if it do!

My findings with command line options Smiley

  • My test game was Super Metroid using saved states.
  • using the command -nw (Disable graphic window effects ) boosts 2~3fps in some areas.
I donīt notice any side effect in this game.
  • using the command -r 1 or -r 2 (low quality sound) boosted 1~2fps... at the expense of sound quality of course.
  • I tried other sound options like -mono or -nois (disable interpolation) but both hangs the emulator
  • -nosound boosts fps, but, of course i would not use it normally.
  • manual frameskip sucks, dont use it!

-
It is not much, but can be useful for some games...

Note that these are just my visual impressions, there are no scientific methods envolved =)

Thanks for the new release, but I have the issue where I tried Super Mario All Star both Pal and US. I can enter the menu for game selection but when starting the games the screen stays black and the dingoo is frozen? Does this game have any special chip?

Use the save states from this thread http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingux-emulation/(snes)-super-mario-all-stars-howto/ It will allow you to play them all, i think the reason it doesnt load up normally is a save issue ,smb2 work normally

Also guys how do you put in multiple parameters? with a comma ,  Huh

Wow running ver 20091014 with -f 2 frameskip command makes super mario kart very playable @ 432mhz Smiley
