great!thanks
but why not base on Menelkir's Kernel ?
his kernel support "mplayer"(a media player program),and his kernel is very fast at speed, every thing runs fast..
and if can support 7*7 font?because 8*8 is a little big..

i have test this kernel
but it doesnt support "mplayer"
mplayer is a media player for DINGUX,it supports h.264,so it is a good media player
the kernel base on Menelkir's Kernel ,mplayer can be used..
so why not base on Menelkir's Kernel ?
a little advise ...
thanks

Mplayer needs the IPU (image processing unit) enabled, which takes 4MB of ram iirc. Thereīs an mplayer version which doesnīt need it (just search for mplayer ipu), but itīs slower. Works fine for flvīs though.  :)

Thx Sience, all cool features in one kernel!  ;D

Was hoping someone would do this - thanks SiENcE  ;)
I'm so generous - I gave my DS Lite away the other day - don't think I will be needing it

You don't need a Mplayer compatible kernel (IPU enabled). But the IPU consumes 4mb more ram so it's pretty useless.

Instead take the Non-IPU enabled Mplayer. It works pretty much the same.

Here you go.

Thank you for the multimedia (MM) info! Can anybody report how playing video's (xvid or divx) is w/ this kernel and TV out? Pretty please?  Kissy kissy Kermit? :-*

Notice: I can't test it meself anymore. I fried me Dingoo and am still hoping that the LetCool Gamestation will support Linux (like Dingux for the Dingoo). I'm thinking of that one to replace me ol' Dingoo. If no Linux for LetCool (LetCLux?) then I'll buy a new Dingoo. Still miss her every day... Bouhou.  :'(
Finally got me a new Dingoo after I Kentucky ~~::fried::~~ the other one. Yippee! [edit] And lost it!

mplayer of none IPU works,fine:)
but i test Menelkir's Kernel ,every thing runs a littel faster than  boukichi's kernel  .
i think if his kernel is optimize kernel.
so you can test it ,i feel it a faster kernel...

@ Meneer Jansen

The mplayer still sucks and its in no way better than on the nativeside. 16bpp and some hickups.

also i think because swap can increase 64M RAM,so 4M RAM is not a problem..
why i feel   Menelkir's Kernel  runs faster?
who will test Menelkir's Kernel   ,if it is a faster kernel?

Thanks for the info! I use mplayer in Linux on my PC and that one is mighty fine. But, if no more than 16 bpp then there is no reason to switch to Dinux for movies. Btw, I think the native movie player is pertty fine. Zoom modes, no hickups etc. But 16 bpp on a TV is no good. Sixteen bpp on Dingoo's screen or old school games on a TV, however, is good enough. :)
