gpsp 20100615
« on: June 15, 2010, 09:41:46 pm »
Hi,

I have improved the gpsp version for dingux a bit. Now it has real fullscreen 320x240 and you can control the volume from the ingame menu. Its compiled with advanced profiling to gain some speed, but dont expect a miracle. ;)

Cool, thank you!

Would it be possible to have two fullscreen options, one proportional and one true fullscreen?

Or is that being too nitpicky? :)

Possible to share the code?

I want to update the scaler with my own. I can put it in SVN and give you commit access to work together on the code.

@ Sience

Yes I will share the source. Without opensource it werent be possible at all.

@ Stephanie

Would be possible to integrate a aspect scaler.

You can also fix the file selector controls, so the roms can be selected with A button.
I recompiled gpsp like that once (also did profiling, which didn't result in any speed improvements :P), but never released the binary, because it was not worth it ;)

Yes profiling doesnt give a better performance, but its about 1mb smaller binary.

Not exactly "fixed", cause 320x240 uses a different aspect ratio than GBA, I preffer the old one =P
The volume control is nice =)

Nice! What are the improvements in the scaler? :)

Great to hear that someone is doing something to the gpSP. :)

Looks like I'm going to be able to play all my games on dingux soon.

Great Work ;D. I usually play on gpsp just because i cant be bothred to go to the native :-[. It would be nice if the graphics menu didnt crash the dingoo though. :(

Please, give that emulator some love!

Native emulator is good, but too slow at deflaut clock, and the workaround for overclock is way too restricting.
Does someone knows if there is a way to force the launch of overclocking app just berfore an emulator in native, or any way to change default speed? That would be awesome.

What do you mean by "the workaround for overclock is way too restricting"?

If I am understanding your question correctly, there is no way to do what you are asking, as far as I know.

I was talking about the need to keep A button pressed until you launch the emulator if you don't want the clock to be reset to its defalut value. Even if it's not a big issue, it "breaks" the pleasure ;-)
As you don't have this problem under gmenu2X, it would be great to have a real gba emulator under dingux.

There was a custom rom which was running at 400mhz at default.

Argh, that's an overclocked custom firmware. I've installed it once, never seen any difference...  :'(
Thanks for the help anyway. I guess the only hope is on gpsp.

Saving, loading and exiting works fine for me, but feel free to use native if you wish. I'm sticking with Dingux ;D I haven't booted to native in ages.
