As I understand it, rootfs is your root file system, in other words, your BIOS, which is required for you to be able to boot into Dingux.
Well, not bios. The bootloader is for booting into dingux.
Root file system is a structure of folders, containing the most primary programs and config files required for linux to work properly.
It's an equivalent of c:\windows

I stand corrected, and thanks for clearing that up.  In either case, you can't run Dingux without rootfs

Thanks Kalisiin and zear!

I couldn't find these answers on DingooWiki Smiley

Should I also update everytime mine zImage and rootfs when there is a new version available?
I heard that there was a version which enables the power off switch within dingux.

Meryl Silverburgh: What do you mean? Hey, man aren't allowed in here!
Solid Snake: I had no idea that you were so feminine.

You can...or you don't have to.

But, if you do...you also should update your dmenu.cfg file, using Notepad++ to give yourself the menu options to "Reboot" and to "Power Off" from Dingux.
There's other topics that discuss this, so I won't go into detail here.  If you can't find them, PM me and I will try to help you, but, remember, I'm not too experienced at this stuff...I only know how to do stuff that I have already done myself, and can only solve problems I, myself, have run up against.

I'm no programmer, not by any stretch of the imagination.
