Dingux (Dingoo Linux) > Help
Dingoo just arrived! So, What now?
Absent:
Got home, there it was. Like a mirage. So what are my next steps? Plan right now is to go get a miniSD of some kind, boot toddlers due to near total lack of Linux know-how. Any advice or recommendations would be spectacular though.
Like:
what size miniSD should I pick up?
should I get mini-to-micro SD thing instead?
What can I do to make installing Dingux as painless as possible?
what should I put on the thing after Dingux is installed?
and so forth.
For reference, I'm on an older black macbook with possible access to roomates windows machine should it come to that.
anybody with really spectacular advice gets free fortune cookies with their order!
Thanks

Hi Absent,
I am no Mac-User, so i can only help you on windows.
At first, microSD cards are cheaper than miniSD so its recommend to buy a microSD with adapter. Most of them are working well.
I am using a Sandisk microSD 8 GB Class 2 card and it works like charm.
Format it in Fat32.
Get the Dual Boot installer and the latest dingux-system pack from here. Follow the readmes.
After that take the latest version of toddlers local pack from here
If you are running into trouble, ask here :)

Hi. I'm in a similar situation (though I have already enjoyed the original firmware!).

Brilliant, I'll go with that then. Keep you posted if I run into serious trouble. thanks man!
Your Lucky numbers are 17, 6, 51, and 19,532.
Just out of curiosity, are there any advantages to miniSD cards over micro, or is it all just a cost thing?
codiak:
miniSD cards are not used so often so they are not produced in the same mass as microSD so its just a matter of costs.
The "Class" is speed related. From 1 (slower) to 6 (faster). Mostly significant at PC -> Dingoo transfers.
