Back after 2 years. Where do I begin getting caught up?
« on: August 04, 2012, 12:59:10 AM »
I recovered my A320 from my drawer last night and listed it on eBay, getting ready to sell it for $49.99. Then I took a trip back here and realized I still want the damn thing. The battery life and emulation support is too phenomenal to give up.

I was planning on buying the A380 after selling the A320, but after hearing the DT vs DD community controversy, it looks like the extra hardware isn't worth the lack of support.

So; Is the A320 still king? I am itching for some better hardware with the same form factor (the Dingoo's form factor is top notch, I loved the feel of it), but the A380 might disappoint me. What about the A330? Anything else out there? Some better PSX emulation would be nice.

Secondly; I don't have the micro SD card files that I used for the Dingoo way back. It boots into Dingux and obviously freezes because no files are there. I could use some help getting my Dingux up and running again, it's been quite a while.

Lastly; What is this OpenDingux I keep hearing about? Sounds like something I'd want to partake in. Will I lose support for Dingux executables due to kernel differences? How do I go about reflashing everything without screwing my Dingoo?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the device you're after is the GCW Zero: http://boards.dingoonity.org/other-game-systems/gcw-zero/

To briefly fill you in:

- It's being created by Justin from DDUSA
- It's in a pre-order stage, with a release date of maybe September?
- It's basically a very beefed up A320 but running some form of Linux as its OS.

Looks like something I'd want to get aside from the form factor. Doesn't answer most of my questions but thank you for the suggestion!

ATM it's still a king (IMO)

OpenDingux is a "new and improved" Dingux. There are some incompatibilities (eg. audio driver- Dingux=OSS, OD=ALSA) but apps/emulators are beeing recompiled for OD

How do I go about reflashing everything without screwing my Dingoo?
There is no need to reflash, OD uses the same bootloader as Dingux
