I was reading on Booboo's site where he was talking about a problem in Dingux where the SD card would become corrupted. Is this a major problem that everyone experiences from time to time, or is it more of an isolated incident?

This is a major problem that happens every some days to me... It's less frequent with the latest bootloader though.
Make sure that you always have a backup of your Dingoo/Dingux files!
Btw: this is the reason why Booboo doesn't want to run Dingux on the internal memory of the Dingoo.

I have been havening frequent corruption problems with Dingux and thus don't use it as much as I once did.
Keep a full back up of your Dingux SD so you can reformat and restore when things get weird.
Once the corruption hits you may not be able to make a good copy of the card so do it as soon as you get everything working right.

Just use an SD card and not the built-in internal memory of the Dingoo, that will sure solve your problem.  |

I learned how to deal with filesystem corruption problems. Basicly run fsck.vfat /dev/[your_card] on your linux computer. It will list all the damaged files. Simply remove them and your filesystem should work again  |

Simply remove them and your filesystem should work again Maybe we should just move back to ext3, as the corruption problem may well be just an issue with fat32 (it's not exactly known for it's reliablity).There are ext3 drivers for windows that work pretty well last time I used them, so windows users could still access their SD card. |

Nope, the same happens for ext3. The problem is known to be filesystem indepentent.

For me, the card corruption bug is pretty annoying. I'd like to play Rise of the Triad, and even without saving game states there's a chance my card will be corrupted. When that happens, Dinux won't even boot anymore and I'm forced to reformat and reinstall it seems... ROTT apparently doesn't run on a read-only mount, which is a shame...  |

Write/save problems? Segmentation faults? Black screens? Read the Troubleshooting and FAQ guide first to fix your issues!
SD Card readonly/corruption issues? Chkdisk /F and steer clear from DMenu: use GMenu instead!

I have similar (?) problem.
After flashing Dingoo Memory and install toddler pack 0.31 everything was ok. Dingux was running, every applications were working
But, in every case, when any emulators, games, etc hang up, after reseting Dingoo i have only Dingux screen, but system doesn't want to load. I see only black screen.
If i close Dingoo correctly (in Dingux panel), evevrything is ok. After reseting Dingux crashes. And I have to copy all files again.
What can i do to solve this problem?

No need to reformat and copy all the files back to the SD card. Simply keep a copy of the BIN, ETC, LIB and SBIN folders. If you start getting the black screen on boot, just copy those 4 folders back to the card and all will be well again.

Is there a similar way for windows user? I suppose that'd be running chkdsk U: /F, where the U: should be replaced by the correct driveletter. It just checks the filesystem & fixes any problems it can. It's only a temporary fix, as additional (future) 'dirty' bits would still require the fix. |
