Cant shoot in DooM?

Solstice:
Doom loads up fine and runs great and i can move and do everything but shoot!  ??? I can shoot in heretic and hexen fine
How can i config the keys or fix this ,thanks im a big doom fan

The keys are configured through the in-game menu.  :-*
