Unfortunately, the quality of the internal Mini-SD card has a lot to do with the consoles performance. Which means that you need to open it up and use a better quality card. I found both the SNES and MD emulators to run slow before I got a top of the line Mini-SD card and put it in the console. The emulators run a lot faster now, maybe not as fast as I'd still like them to go, but there is a noticeable improvement!! H.G.

That is what I originally thought as well, however from my experience and the knowledge and feedback from other members of community that is a false assumption. I tested it by checking fps for my class 6 Samsung micro SD and switched to my class 2 SD, but the fps for all games was the same.
This is because the a380 initially loads up the entire game so it will never have to go back to reading from the SD. There is never any speed up for any game no matter what SD you use. There is however a few benefits for using a better micro SD that have been shown to be true:
1) Games will boot up a lot faster
2) The UI is more responsive
3) You can load up games into your a380 faster
