I am going to buy a Original SanDisk 4GB to 32GB MicroSD SDHC card and install it inside, video to come.

One of the first things I would like to figure out how to do is install Decent 1 and 2 on it. I have the original disks at my house and I found d1x-rebirth here:

I really have no idea how to start about doing this but it said I would need to compile D1X-Rebirth from Source.

Requirements
      C/C++ compiler (gcc/g++)
      SCons
      SDL(-devel)
      PhysFS(-devel)
      GLU/GL
      NASM (optional for Assembler-based Texture-mapper in non-OpenGL Build)

I am pretty lost when it comes to this stuff so any help would be appreciated. Decent is one of my favorite games and that is why I have a few copies of the game laying around my house.

I have the A320 already and it does everything I want except work two player with wireless controllers.

So I would just need the files it says are located on the Descent1 CD-Rom in a subdirectory called "Data"?

I bought a Sandisk MICROSDHC 32GB from Comp USA for $50

I downloaded new firmware V2.00.30 from: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/525714/V20030.img.zip

I extracted the IMG file to a seperate folder and then

I plugged in my new card and used win32diskimager-binary by clicking Win32DiskImager.exe

I pointed it to the new IMG in the new folder I had created and clicked Write

I then used Mini Tool Partition Wizard: http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html

I deleted the Fat32 that was present on my (H) drive, but the drive number should be different on yours.

I then saw 27gb that was unallocated and I clicked it and then Create and then I selected FAT32 in a drop down menu.

I then had to apply the changes with the program.

Cracking the case was not easy and I used a sock underneath it while pressing down so not to strip the screws.

Some screws did not come out so I had to kinda force the top of the case open. The clips that bend in with are at the bottom so you want to kinda pry it open from the top and not by the speakers. (speakers wires are fragile)

I really thought I bricked it forsure until I realized that I just had to hit the reset button.

The only question I have is where this small silver cylinder goes that fell out, I am sure its not a big deal but I wanted to see if it fell out for someone else also.

Also it seems like it wont turn on normally and that I have to hit the reset button to turn it on...

Also I must have done something wrong because its only showing up as 444mb and when I plug it into the USB windows is asking to format.

and then try the steps I posted all over again!

The small silver cilinder goes in to the right bottom corner. It drops every time you open the Dingoo A-380. If you're lucky you'll find it if it drops. But some day you won't find it anymore like me. You don't need it if you don't use it to attach something on it.

I think that you can't power on your Dingoo A-380 because of the power button not being on the right place. Open your Dingoo A-380 and put the power switch in the Hold position. With the power switch in Hold position it's easier to put the power button back.

If for some reason the Dingoo A-380 won't power off than try again after a Reboot.

U Disk Capacity and U Disk Available Capacity are also wrong for me but I can use the full 32GB from the MicroSD card without issues. If you can't use the full capacity try with resizing the FAT32 partition without deleting it first.

Windows doesn't recognise the MicroSD card because the first partition is a Linux EXT3 partition. Whatever you do don't let Windows format the MicroSD card use the SD Formatter.

Ok I was able to install heretic with this add on:

The trick was finding the heretic.wad file and installing it in the same folder in the root directory.

I also got Hexen to work via this add on:

I had to also find the hexen.wad file and add it to the folder I originally put in the root directory.


I could not get them to work by clicking on the Open Emulator button. I had to use the browser to find the .DGE file and open it for the game to load. Whenever I click on the Open-Source Emulators nothing happens, just like when I click on open source games or video, E-book reader or browse pictures.

Since D2X-Rebirth is a Sourceport of the Descent2-Engine you will need the Game-Content data files to run the game.

For non-Mac OS *NIX all data files need to be copied to the Sharepath, which is (if not specified with the SCons ‘sharepath’-variable) /usr/local/share/games/d2x-rebirth/. For all other systems the data files go in the folder containing the application, as with the original version. For *NIX systems (including Mac OS X) there is also the option of placing them in a folder you specify using d2x.ini (see end).

Following files are needed to run the game:

I put them in the folder labeled data and I even encluded the decent2.sow file to no avail.

I think it should work because I have all the correct files in the Data folder, but I could not click on Open Source Emulators. I browsed to it, but browsing worked for hexen.

I am a huge Decent2 fan and I own multiple copies of Decent 1, 2, and 3!
