dingux-2600 for A380

(1/3) > >>

Pottzman:
Okay so I found some source code for the dingux-2600 emulator for dingoo A320 from http://zx81.zx81.free.fr/serendipity/index.php?/categories/109-Atari-2600. I have recompiled the emulator with proper resolution for dingoo A380. The menu is still over to the left but the actual game is centered. If I feel inclined I might try to shift the menu a fraction so it is not so far to the left but the main goal was having the games centered. I am uploading the source code as well as the binary. I do not want to upset or offend anyone on here with this so if it is not welcome admins please remove at your wish. The sound probably could do with some work but I am not really a programmer and wouldn't really know how to fix this. ALL credits go to Zx for his dingux port that I used for this.

Just unzip to "emus" folder and run dingoo-2600.dge

good work, pottzman

Alien Grey:
Thanks for sharing it.

I've tried to run the Atari Lynx emulator HandyOD on my Dingoo A380 but it doesn't work and I don't know how to recompile it. Maybe someone who has the knowledge can make it possible to use HandyOD on the Dingoo A380. It would be very welcome.

Some very good games where only released for the Atari Lynx and I would like to see Crystal Mines II and The Gates Of Zendocon running on my Dingoo A380.

Coccijoe:
I think handyOD don't run on A380 because of double buffering. But without double buffering, no hardware surface, so don't expect a better emulation than on a320. source code are on my page, that should be easy to port it.

Firebrand:
The main reason most of the current A320 apps do not work on the A380 is simply the screen resolution size.  There's technical reasons for this, and I'm only just starting to look into how exactly the device renders to the screen, but assuming it's traditional in it's screen buffer (linear frame buffer), when a program has to draw 320 pixels across the screen, and then it's run on a compatible system (Again, assumption on my part to think Dingux apps will work verbatim on the A380 which supposedly runs a variant of Dingux)  with 400 pixels, 320 are going to be drawn, and then the 80 for the next line.  The end result is the screen ends up skewed which is what I've seen in FCEU for it.
