SmsGGOO V3.3
« on: December 23, 2009, 06:53:26 AM »
Hi all,
Here is the new version of SmsGGOO (of course, not for Dingoo Digital Contest, it's only a new release).

What's new :
Quote
+ Add more crc check for mappers
+ Add bios support (you can disable it in Game Configuration)
  # Fix SP during z80 reset (fix shadow dancer and ace of aces)
  # Change hcounter values
+ Add Game configuration menu for all not necessaries options :P
+ Add screenshot option in menu

You can download the .SIM file here : SmsGGOOV3.3

Put SmsGGOO.SIM in your GAME directory. Put your .SMS and .GG games where you want.
Use "Interesting game" from Dingoo menu and choose your .SMS or .GG files, the emu will launch with the game ;)

Man I REALLY needed this screenshot feature, thanks a lot! The only problem is that it saves the screenshot with the name of the ROM and does not add a number after it (instead of alexkidd-0001.tga, it saves the screenshot as alexkidd.tga), so you can only take a single screenshot per game, as it overwrites the previous one.

And I already have a suggestion for the next release: adding support for controller 2 keys in configuration. I know the Dingoo doesn't support multiplayer, but Cyborg Hunter is a one player game that uses buttons from the second controller to change weapons, so it's impossible to play it on SmsGGOO.

Thanks a lot, Alek!

Hello again, i think I found a bug in version 3.3, when using bios ( CRC 0072ED54 ) in Master System, and load games Taito Chase H.Q (CRC 85CFC9C9) and Shadow Of The Beast (CRC 1575581D) the BIOS screen appears with bad graphics. Not sure if a bug or not, maybe this games not like bios, or the bios i´m using is bad dump, anyway, when in game, no graphical problems, only in bios loading screen.I need to test more games for search if this happend in another games.

Anyway, excelent work, VEY NICE EMULATOR!!
Very Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!

HUm, did you try to disable bios in menu ?
Some bios are also not compatible with SMS/GG games ...

got a problem and I need someone else to confirm I'm not going crazy:

Save states don't work at all for me.

Can't load old ones, can't save new ones :(

One more thing, buttons are reversed in the controller options: if you tell the X button to act like button 1, it will act like button 2.

Hum, no i don't think so. X is mapped to button 2 for default value but you can change it.

And yes, sorry about that, save states are not compatible with previous version ...

Well, there IS something weird with the controls... maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'll provide you with an example.

In Phantasy Star, both buttons open up the menu. Then, button 1 exits it and button 2 chooses an action. Go to the controller options and assign button 1 to "B" and button 2 to "A", for example. The open up the menu in Phantasy Star and press "A". You will exit the menu (button 1 action) instead of choosing an option (button 2).

This is clearer in "Renegade". Button 1 is on the left, so it punches to the left, while button 2 punches to the right.

To keep things sane, you would go to the controller options and set button 1 to "B" and button 2 to "A". But when actually playing the game, you'll see that the commands are in fact reversed, and "B" will act like button 2, punching to the right, instead of acting like button 1. The controller configuration works and you can set the buttons any way you want, but the "labels" in the controller configuration screen are reversed. Did you get it?

Well that clears half my mystery up.

But I'm still not sure why I can't create new save states. It happens on every game I've tried on so far, including ones I had never played before. I even re-downloaded some ROM's to see if that was the issue, but no luck.

Is this happening to anyone else?

For what it's worth, I have a pawed Dingoo and am running firmware v1.2-pof on it.
