ProoSystem V1.0
« on: December 22, 2009, 07:30:44 pm »
Hello,
Here is a little emulator named ProoSystem. It's a port of ProSystem Atari 7800 emulator from Greg Stanton!
You can find it in the dingoo digital website, because it's an  entry for its compo.

All information are in the readme file shipped with the zip file.

Most sincerely Awesome!!

Very nice work, just tested it.

Question: in later development, do you plan to make it so that we can adjust the FPS, as some games really play too slow, currently.  For example, Galaga...way too slow.

I'm grabbing this!!

Another Alekmaul product that pisses excellence!!

The only thing I'd improve is the ability to set the FPS, so that you can speed up some slow games, but it is awesome to see Atari 7800 on Native!

(looks forward eagerly to anything else Alekmaul has to release!!)

I'm calling for a doping test on Alekmaul, someone needs to stop that man!
Nah, who am I kidding, let him go bananas :D
Not an Atari xx00 fan myself, but great job Alekmaul!

alekmaul;

First off, thanks for this. I really look forward to giving it a proper spin :)

Some quick observations, after a very brief bit of play:

- Not a major issue, but having X and Y default to being the Reset button seems a bit risky. Just too easy to hit one of them by accident and lose your progress on a game.

- Frame rate seems to skip all over the place, but I only tried Dig Dug and Asteroids. Will test this more later.

- the Atari 7800 was compatible with the Atari 2600 games. Does this emu work with those as well? If so, what extension do they need to have?

Hello,
Ok for X/Y button but some games needs to have reset button to start, so i think it's not so bad, where do you want that i map Reset button to start game ?
About framerate, i'm actually using frameskip to one. I need to check more why some game have trouble with frame rate, it's really strange ...
And no, no Atari2600 support actually ...

For those who will query about that, source code will be release of course because it's only a port (even if i will made some improvement for speed soon).

Would it possible to do Reset with a combination of buttons, like X+Y? I think that would reduce the chance of an accidental button press.

I guess I'll just have to wait til Spiller makes StelGoo a reality ;)

Oh, and it seems this is only compatible with NTSC ROMS...?

Anyone get Xenophobe working by chance?
