Ladies and gentlemen,
Armageddon is nigh. The ultimate catastrophe for a Dingoonian like me. This might just be the single most worst day in my entire
life: I accidentally ~~::fried::~~
me beloved Dingoo (a classic, pawed, 4 GB no-problems model no less!). Aaaaaaaaaarrrggggghhhh!
I bought an electricity-wall-socket to USB plug (5V, 1000 mA) and connected my Dingoo to it for just a couple of minutes
. The other adapter plug I have (5 V, 400 mA) always worked fine. The adapter that came in the box (5V, 700 mA) is only suited for the USA and Japan. The Dingoo heated up to a very high
temperature (somebody else reported this too on this forum, but I can't find the post). I disconnected the Dingoo, but it was already to late. It stayed hot for a very long time (more than an hour), it must have short circuited. The battery went be
k on me! No need to say I haven't been able to switch my Dingoo on, nor to recharge it 'til now. Bouhouhou!
1. Let this be a warning to y'all: 1000 mA is too much for our little classic gaming friend. (I may start a separate topic on this)
2. Can somebody recommend a place to buy an other Dingoo? Shipping costs to Europe MUST be low (so NO Dingoo Digital USA!).
It is said that Deal Extreme starts selling Dingoo's again in March 2010. But are they the "good" ones? I want a Dingoo w/ a 1700 mAh battery, 4GB (or more!) and NO problems w/ running homebrew emulators on the native OS. Also: NO Dingoo that is unbrickable if accidentally bricked. This seems an awful lot to ask from a Dingoo these days, but I'm not gonna settle for less. Nobody should settle for less than that, I think....
