Dingoo and Vista 64Bit SP2
« on: February 24, 2010, 12:09:44 pm »
Hello together!

This is my first post after reading in this forum for a long time. Just a moment ago I was again searching for a solution to connect my Dingoo to a Vista 64Bit SP2 Machine at my workplace. Yes, my boss ignores many things as long as the money is coming in. I could not find this solution in this forum although using the search. I installed the patch KB971035 just to give it a try and to my own surprise, both, the internal memory and the card slot showed up in the explorer. I checked the same patch on a Vista 32Bit SP2 machine and it showed up too after installing the patch.

32Bit

64Bit

Kind regards

Okay, no reply means, that either nobody has tried it or it does not work. But thanks to all for at least reading my first post.

Thanks

Pille  :)

Do you mean not recognized or not mounted? I had the problem, that it was mentioned as a removable medium, but the internal memory and SD-Slot were not mounted. After applying the patch, it was mounted. I am not talking about the USB-Mode which is used for flashing or installing Dingux.

I plug my Dingoo into my Vista SP2 machine and it doesn't even detect its there. Nothing shows up.

No internal memory or SD slot shows up.

You say that it does not even detect that it is there. It seems more of a hardware tahn software problem. Befor the patch it was recognized as a removable medium, but could not be mounted. Does it show up in systems manager?

I tried over and over to get my Dingoo to be recognized in USB mode so I install dual-boot Dingux, but in the end I had to get Puppy Linux and install from there.

Puppy Linux is easy to use, and really eliminates the time spent figuring out how to get 64-bit Windows Vista/Window 7 to see your Dingoo in USB mode.

Of course, under normal USB connection mode (no "B" button when you reboot) the Dingoo works just fine with my Windows 7 64-bit.

The USB-Mode (B) is a problem due to the lack of drivers. Yet the patch updated my USBSTOR.sys and made vista able to mount the Dingoos internal memory. I saw that the link in my post automatically forwards to the 32Bit version of the patch.

Worked for me.. thanks.  Using Vista32.  The date on USBSTOR.sys changed from 4/10/2009 to 5/5/2009.  I have a 64bit version of Windows 7... I'll test that some time in the future.

Just wanted to add my thanks as well. I only got my Dingoo yesterday (yeah, I know, I'm late to the party) and I came across this problem. And 3 years on this is the only place I could find the solution on the net. I have a 32bit laptop and it worked immediately. Just wanted to say I really appreciated this post, so thanks Pille if you read this.

Anybody know if there is a patch for Win7. At the moment I have to use my Pandora to connect to the dingoo as it's the only thing running linux and it picks it up straight away.
