Firmware Hacking

...updated codecs too, perhaps?
So that it would be possible to have better and faster video playback AND custom themes.
Right now there are two firmwares that allow either one or another, but not both. :/
Kronus:
I'm progressing rather smoothly, but I used the 1.03 firmware instead, for reasons that the current HXFTool doesn't seem to support editing and hacking firmware 1.1, every time I edit text when I flash it, it doesn't show the changes I made at all.
Anyways, I patched it to support custom themes, converted all folder directories to lowercase and I'm messing around with the Hex Viewer and editor and also made changes to the text.
It will be out soon, sorry for the delay.

Sounds pretty sweet mate. I look forward to testing this when I finally get my dingoo! :)
I think I may even create my first thread about the delivery of my new baby. :D
From youtube videos and such, the default menu system does seem a bit engrlish, so if you're changing that from say "Interesting game" to Dingoo Games or some such thing that's awesome!
What else is possible through hacking of the firmware? What are the links to find out more information? I'd be interested in lending a hand where possible with my limited C++ knowledge and hacking abilities!

Well, you don't need any special C++ or hacking skills to edit Firmwares actually :P
I use a premade Dingoo firmware editing tool called: "HFXTool" which is easy to use and edit things inside the Firmware, anyways I can't take your offer at the moment, but I accept you as a tester to see if it works straight right. I'm editing those Engrish parts so don't worry. ;)
Thanks.

The best thing that could be done would be to base it off the newest factory firmware 1.1 and try to fix the video codec and Radio issues.
