When you have a HK Dingoo that can only use the emulators it came with, and don't dare taking the risk of bricking it by installing alternative operating systems, you gotta do some creative thinking to get more out of your lovely little device. Here's a list of programs that are essential for anyone using a HK Dingoo. They might even come in handy for you guys with a "normal" Dingoo! Emulators- Goomba - GameBoy emulator for GBA. This makes GBA roms out of your monochrome .gb GameBoy roms.
- Goomba Color - GameBoy Color emulator for GBA.
eBook Readers- MakeBook - eBook reader for GBA, for the people who utterly hates the preinstalled eBook reader. There's a free version available, but originally, it costs money. Since the site isn't updated for ages, you might find a serial somewhere, but I can't hand out information on that subject.
Other- PogoShell - A shell application for GBA. With the correct plugins, you can play chiptunes (MOD/IT/NSF etc), which isn't available to you if you can't use homebrew on your device. Since the official site of PogoShell is nowhere to be found, and I can't find the newest version of the program anywhere, I've uploaded it from my own computer to MediaFire. Enjoy!
That's it for now, if you know of any other programs you feel should be added to this list, PM me and I'll add them, along with the appropriate info, so we can all benefit!

I have an HK and it runs everything fine, smsggoo,LynGOO,OverClock app,GooPlayer, dingoobench etc Only prob is gnuboy will freeze after loading a second rom and will even cause some other emulators to not launch properly, doesnt really matter because gnuboy on dingux is far better with greater compatibility Are you unable to run these? what firmware did your dingoo come shipped with? Only cheap thing ive noticed on mine is the A and B button markings have worn off already and i dont play that much

if you're on about dingux, what risk? There's always a risk when fiddling with unofficial firmware and flashing. I've read far too many horror stories about people bricking their unit while trying to install Dingux, so I'd rather stay on the safe side. Solstice: You're lucky then, mine doesn't run any software (emulators/homebrew) that it didn't ship with. Don't have it here right now, but i think it runs on v1.3. Anyway those are subjects of other threads, this one is about tools/programs for those of us who doesn't dare to start fiddling with our precious little device

XDpirate.. dingoo-digital-usa has released a fix for the problems you were having all the native emus work on hk dingoos now. The post is located here: http://boards.dingoonity.org/dingoo-hardware-general/fix-for-hk-models-and-models-that-won't-play-native-community-apps-emulators/msg11434/?topicseen#newIn regards to dingux and bricking your dingoo. It takes a LOT to kill your dingoo. If you brick it use the unbrick tool. If you want to give it a try come to irc and I can help with the install or someone else can everyone is very helpful just be patient while waiting for a response. Dingux makes an already great device even better and there are no worries about incompatibility. Once you go to dingux you will find yourself going to the native side of things less and less and less. Right now the only time I goto native is when I want to play stunrunner on Lynx and the ocassional Odyssey and gba games but since gbpsp has been released and is being updated regularly the native firmware might not matter to me at all in a month or so. I already boot directly into Dingux instead of native anyways

Thanks though!

Dingux hasnt got any corruption problems anymore. Just use the rtc kernel and all will be fine.

I have an HK and I have never had trouble with Dingux or even using a custom firmware. The only issue I ever had was some native apps not running, and now that's been fixed. Oh, and the X on the X button wore off Too much Super Metroid.
