Dingoo Official Firmware > Games & Homebrew
Has most native software development stopped?
Fatboy:
Hi!,
Been away for a few weeks but back into things again.
Are native apps/games etc still being released or is it all Dingux now?
I'm one of those few individuals (un-pawed Dingoo), that just cant get past the dual boot install for Dingux. (tried ALL the guides...but still no luck)
Still got plenty going for it with the native apps (play mostly Sega games & CPS/NEO GEO), but would love to see native ST emulator and Media player with more functions and better playback?
A big thank you to all those developers who have produced some great Native Apps....just like to see some new stuff ;)

It seems like it. I think there have been issues with different versions of the Dingoo; native stuff compiled to run one version may not run on others, etc.
It's too bad - there was a flurry of new games and emulators for native mode up until New Year's and it's been dead since; all the new releases have been Dingux only.
darfgarf:
there are still native devs around, it's just that much more fingux related things happen, so it tends to get a tad buried
if coding/compiling for the native os was a easy as it is in dingux, i'd gladly do things for it

Fatboy, I wouldn't mind trying to help you get Dingux installed. It is complicated, although I managed it first time I tried.
Where are you hanging up/having problems?
What guides have you used?
What sort of SD chip are you using?
Did you format it to FAT-32?
There's a number of things that can cause Dingux installation to fail. I would not mind trying to help you...if you're interested.
To start with, I'd recommend "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Installing Dingux" (google this) and do it on a computer that has XP....NOT Vista or 7 - they suck for Dingux installation...XP rules!!
Follow all the steps...in order.
If you get hung up anywhere, note where you're getting hung up...I'll try to help.
But, again...USE A COMPUTER RUNNING WINDOWS XP ONLY.
P.S. I cannot help you with Vista/7-related problems. I have never used those OS's and I never will. XP is the best!

:)
I for myself hope that native development has not died and we´ll see some more nice things on it. I´m still impressed how the native emus can keep up with the dingux ones.
Oh, and i think the HK models not playing the homebrew emulators aswell as the standard GBA emulator are probably the biggest hindering reason. If Dingoo-Digital would pull that stick out of their a** and release the damn sources, we´d all be happy... ::)
