Are you kidding! I've wanted a C64 emu for native for so long!  ;D  ;D  ;D

Awesome find, thank you for sharing!

It works wonderfully too, much faster than the Dingux version.

Vice 2.3 for Dingoo Native

Website: Vice 2.3 for Dingoo (native)

Download: http://noname.c64.org/csdb/getinternalfile.php/96179/Vice-Dingoo-2.3.zip

Released by: Peiselulli

Release Date: 18 March 2011

Quote
Readme for Vice 2.3 for Dingoo (native OS)
==========================================

Motivation for this port:
-------------------------

The only Dingoo vice port runs under linux for Dingoo (call Dingux).
It has a very poor performance so it is not possible to run games
with satisfying speed.

This port can run the most games with 50 fps.
Some demos slow down the emulator a bit.

Use of the binaries:
--------------------

Copy the complete folder "Vice-Dingoo-2.3" to you flashcard
Start you Dingoo in native mode
Select "3D Game"
Browse to your "Vice-Dingoo-2.3" directory.
Start "x64.app"

Emulator keys:
"start" : for SDL menu and leave menu again.
        Use "A" for entering and "B" for leaving"

"A"     : fire button
"X"     : space
"L"     : freeze game
"R"     : restore freezed game

Additional speed:
If you want to run the Emulator a little bit faster, select in menu
"-> Speed setting". There is a radiobutton with "Overclock to 433 MHZ"

Building from source:
---------------------

(tested under Linux only):

First download the cross-compiler and the Dingoo-SDK from here:

   http://code.google.com/p/dingoo-sdk/downloads/list

I used version dingoo_sdk_r324.zip and
version mipsel-4.1.2-nopic.tar.bz2.

For installation information look here:
   http://code.google.com/p/dingoo-sdk/wiki/GeneralInformation

make a build folder:

mkdir vice_build
cd vice_build

get vice2.3 from here:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/vice-emu/files/releases/vice-2.3.tar.gz/download

copy the patch in this archive to the "vice_build" folder.

And run:

tar xzf <path_to_download>/vice-2.3.tar.gz
cd vice-2.3
patch -p0 <../patch-dingoo-native.txt
autoreconf
./configure --host=mipsel-linux --enable-dingoo
make
make bindist

I used Linux as host System, so don't bother me if it not works on Windows ...

Goofs:
------

- The X64sc, X128 and X64dtv Emulators don't run.
- only X64 in the binary distribution here.
- Video output for TV-OUT doesn't work.
- Emulator resets the system if "quit" is selected.

Been thrashing International Karate, so much fun, performs wonderfully.

I think this completes my wanted emulators list now, A320 rocks.

Ive just got it to work!
I put the vice folder into the 3d games folder before, and that was the problem.
I just put it  in the root of internal memory an it booted straight away!!!!!! ;D

This thing is great. Works way better than the Dingux version. A little faster and more smoother.
Bards Tale 3
Curse of Azure Bonds
Mars Saga
and even Echelon run perfect, no glitch

I can't seem to get Cartridges to work though, it freezes up when you try to attach any crt files
but other than that, I like it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 I put the program in the 3d and made a dir called games. it always loads fine to the main c64 screen but most games seem to lock up when I load them. I am trying to load d64 format games. I am not sure if I have done something wrong. do the games have to go in any specific place?

 I have a standard official A320.
Thanks in advance

I have older ILI9325 based dingoo and it mostly doesn't work with this VICE release. Most of the time it hangs when executing the app or the display blinks black and it returns back to file launcher (and probably eats lot of memory since then dingoo cannot see any files in folders).

One way how it always runs is to attach usb cable, then 'safely remove hardware' and unplug cable  and then it runs fine one time. After reboot it hangs again. Also it hangs randomly when autostarting d64 image, first works, second doesn't, etc.

When it works, it is perfect :-)

I had a chat with the developer and there is some direct screen access going on. I have an ILI9331_3 and things work fairly well (see the bugs topic). The other display chip type may well have issues.

clach, whats with the reported speed increase of this over the dingux version, did he do any optimization or is it purely from the lack of linux overhead?
