Request Cybiko emulator
« on: December 16, 2014, 09:45:08 am »
Posted this in the GCW section first but as my Dingoo A320 still gets a lot of use (actually more than the GCW) and it would be a great addition I thought I'd post it here as well:

Stumbled across a Cybiko/ Cybiko Xtreme review at Ashens YT channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojatBoMZubk

Reminds me on classic Game Boy or Palm games up to Palm OS 4 and some games look like they could be fun. And actually it has quite an impressive library of games and apps. I wonder if an emulator for these platforms would be possible. I haven't seen it covered on any other handheld yet.

Cybiko at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cybiko
Here's an emulator project: http://b2cv5.sourceforge.net/
And here's a forum (with extensive file database): http://forums.planetcybiko.net/

I'm afraid this isn't an emulator, but rather BASIC compiler for the Cybiko itself.
Quote
B2C is a BASIC-to-C language translator/compiler for the Cybiko Handheld Computer for Teens. It takes BASIC source code and emits C source code. The BUILD task simplifies gathering of graphics, sounds, and other resources to create a complete application.

Thanks for pointing that out, Zear. I didn't look close enough and maybe I was too optimistic.
Googled some more and this is what I've found:

Cybiko emulator (unfinished?): http://www.dbzoo.com/cybiko/cyemu
C4PC (apparantly closed source): http://users.skynet.be/firefly/cybiko/
