Interesting GBA problem
« on: July 15, 2010, 02:27:03 pm »
My native GBA emu works fine except for one thing: when I use savestates, 90% of the time in wipes the data in my .sav file.

I am using the version of GBA.SIM from Nov 12, 2008 which may have something to do with it.  Even though I have a newer Dingoo A320, I'm using this version of GBA.SIM because newer versions freeze at the loading screen with my .gba files.

Is there a more recent version of GBA.SIM (past few months) that can fix both the freezing and the wiped SRAM, or is there some way to patch the .gba files to stop them from freezing the GBA emulator?

The thing that is really interesting is that i had to send it into DDUSA 4 months back for an unrelated issue and when I got it back, my .gba files were replaced with different versions and my GBA.SIM had been updated.  Not wanting to have to rename all my .sav files, I just wiped these .gba files and replaced them with my own (that work on all other emulators I use) which lead to the freezing issue.  I didn't test the new roms with the new GBA.SIM myself, but Justin assured me that he tested the GBA emulator and it worked fine when the dingoo was in his possesion.  This is what lead me to believe the roms can be altered in some way to fix the freezing
