Uhm... well, here's how it went for me:

1º flash with the new rom (4.0.3) - it booted normally (just a bit slow), some on-line related services went off (I don't have wi-fi here), then any service in memory started shutting off with no appearent reason. Any app would shut itself down very quickly. Re-booted it, and the loading screen with the winking droid guy started showing graphic corruption.

2º flash with the new rom (4.0.3) - No graphic corruption on loading screen, but the services went down so fast I almost even couldn't unlock the screen. The messages were like this: "Unfortunately, the service (any service... from Launcher to Camera to UI (?)) has stopped". I couldn't run a single app.

3º flash with the old rom (2.4.3) - Everything as normal as ever.

4º flash with the new rom (4.0.3) - this time was the most "normal" boot with the new rom... I could play 4 levels of the stock Angry Birds. Still, services going down. I could launch the GBA emulator, and the intro of Castlevania Aria of Sorrow looked glitched. Gameboid stopped working, Android froze.

5º flash with the old rom (2.4.3) - Everything as normal as ever.

6º flash with the new rom (4.0.3) - A mix between my first and fourth attempts. Android froze several times.

Last flash with the old rom (2.4.3) - Everything as normal as ever. I'm currently using this one since I'm in the middle of a Pokemon Fire Red playthrough :).

So... I could be doing something wrong maybe? If I'm doing things right, and my unit is not faulty... then the ICS rom could be buggy? I hope this helps a bit and someone else shares his/her experience with the new rom.

Take care.

Everything is normal for me, LastPucho, i just noticed that fpse is in chinese for me, but i didn't notice any crash/service interruption... I don't know what can be wrong with your rom.
(stupid question incoming)
Did you download the correct rom? The one for the G18A capacitive and noy g18a resistive?

Yep. I just re-downloaded it from a mirror from the other thread (just in case), uploaded by Black Mage. It's name is "YDPG18A A10 Android4.0 upgrade(capacitive screen) v6.15-20120622". I just installed it... and still, "Unfortunately, the service (Calendar, Music, Launcher, Settings, whatever) has stopped". But now I could play a little bit of Fruit Ninja at least... :'(

I read the attached pdf... and the unit was fully charged. So I don't know... if it worked for you, and when I switch to the old 2.3.4 rom my G18A is fine... I don't know what could be happening ???. Maybe my unit is indeed faulty afterall?

Does unlock root work with ICS?

and which driver should I use? the one in your .zip or the one from Yinlips (in the package called YDPG18A upgrade tool LiveSuit_v20) ?

Thanks

You dont need unlock root if you dont plan on using busy box or doing development. The soft root is enough. If you are using wnidows x64 use my set of tool and the downloaded image from yinlips otherwise use theirs

This is a mirror for the ics firmwire: http://depositfiles.com/files/gkevy2pap

@Qbertaddict I rooted it, I installed Titanium Backup and I successfull deleted some of the default applications (Angry Birds, Fruit NInja and Ebook reader), then I tryed to use some of the default emulator, but all the emulator won't save the game using the quick save method, and using SegaMegaDrive emulator i get an error like "Save Permission Denied".

I don't know if this is a bug about the new firmware, or something I did wrong about rooting the device.

Can somebody confirm this?
Thanks
