Has anyone else had any problems with the tf card reader?

I have tried 2 16gb cards and most of the time it doesn't pick up that it's been inserted and it only occasionally shows the files if I push the cards in as much as possible. Keep getting read errors sometimes it will load and sometimes (more often than not) it states that it can't load the roms.

I also get errors all the time when installing apks.  It keeps telling me that it can't parse the package.  Is this normal?

The SD cards are not branded so I guess that it could be that they are cheap and nasty or it could be the unit itself.

If I buy a branded SD and it still doesn't work then it looks like I might have to send the sodding thing back to China!

Does it matter what class the card is.  Obviously the higher the class the faster the card right?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Bought a rather expensive TF 8GB card to test with the console and its doing the same thing.

It's a faulty TF slot on the console by the looks of things.  If I press the TF in really hard it works (sometimes)

Just my luck!

Guess the bloody thing will have to go back to China and then hopefully Dino Direct will send a replacement????

Might get a replacement sometime this year.  What a pisser!

Cheers mate. Just my luck!  I would rather try and dick about with it rather than spend ages waiting for another to arrive.

Even if the internal is 4GB it contains the OS and it would mean installing android on the 16GB card and all that shit with the game manager to contend with.

Dont know what the returns policy is but it's also a matter of cost.  How much is it going to send this shit back to China?

Anyway, starting to regret buying it as it's useless without a decent amount of storage.  Wonder why the TF slot is shagged, possibly just a 1 in 50,000 chance but annoying all the same.

The box says it was tested by Dino Direct but they have only probably tested the internal memory system and not tested the TF.

Shit happends........But only to me usually!

the ps1 emulator is great, but it forgets all your effing settings after each restart. anyone found a solution for this? it's driving me mental because everytime i change game it forgets where the bios is, clears my hardware key config and puts the overlay on the damn screen.

i have a feeling the gamemanager is to blame. can i just remove the gamemanager fully and use the emulators on their own?

In misc option of the emu there is an option called "save setting to defualt". Have you tried this?

For the most part i'm happy with the G16. My biggest gripe is with the screen. One of the glass substrates looks almost a silver color instead of black, which causes pretty bad glaring. The touch screen is horrible, at least on my unit. Finger tips don't register all that well, finger nails work alot better. Seems the sensitivity needs to be increased but Yinlips would have to correct that in an update or maybe a custom rom.

How is Yinlips in regard to supporting their handhelds? Do they ever release updates?

for me it has one of the best resistive touchscreens i've ever used, far better than that of my old nokia 5800 and on a par with some of the cheaper capacitive screens i've used too. i do agree with the colour balance though, some blacks look.... strange.

Can't right now. I will let you know when I can.

If you are in contact with them, you could suggest that they released the kernel sources. That could be a real game changer for this, like it has been for the mele a1000 that is running the allwinner a10 soc too.
