Flashing it worked. what do you prefer Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich?
Not sure If I should Flash it back to is since it is working.
only problem I came across with ICS was the memory ran out a lot faster.

I'd stick with Gingerbread, use Ruffnuffs link to Snakemans modded GB rom. The ICS roms from Yinlips are buggy as hell and alot of people have switched back to GB.

Yeah I done a video on the ICS rom all seemed well but then started noticing stuff like missing icons on the .oid emulators ect.. all though it did run smooth.. but for stability stick with GB custom rom or if you do decide to keep ICS change the launcher to something else..

Does anybody know how to install
· A10 android2.3(resistance screen)v4.24-20120531
from yin lips website?
http://www.yinlips.com/en/services/downs.aspx
I downloaded it and it was not a Img File that I could load into Live Suite
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.0 was working fine until the battery indicator stopped working. kept saying it was fully charged.
I flashed it to snake mans mod. only problem is camera doesn't work
and file manager is missing. any suggestions?

Side load a filemanager or use astro from the market and forget about the camera. It is a POS anyways  ;D

I have received my YDP G16 yesterday from willgoo and I have a major problem: It won't charge.

If I plug in the wall charger or usb cable the device recognizes that it should charge. The battery symbol is shown when it's shut down and when it's running Android does say it is charging.

But it does not charge. I'm currently at 8% of battery and it's stuck there regardless how long I will charge.

Just to be sure I tried several roms (GB, ICS, snakemans GB) but with the same result.

Any suggestions? Does anyone know where to get a replacement battery?

Other than that I'm quite impressed with the g16 and would prefer not sending it back to willgoo. As I'm from Germany the shipping will take a long time.

Something like this adapter would work?

http://www.amazon.com/HDE-Female-5-Pin-Male-Adapter/dp/B002S7PS8M

That's the one  ;)

Just tried even this one and nothing seems to work. Using two different consoles. This was the last try. No USB for me... :'(

Hello all. New YDP G16 owner here (yay)! Also my first Android device, so I'm a noob.

I'm still using the stock ROM as I only got it yesterday. I have loaded a flash card with N64, SNES, etc. roms and have found a few that don't seem to work with the stock emulators (Star Wars Rogue Squadron for N64 does not for example), but my first question concerns MAME.

1) What is the proper rom format for the MAME emulator on the device? I have found roms for MAME on the web which are .zip files like the couple of MAME roms loaded on the internal memory storage pace of the G16, but the .zip files I have put on my flash card. Tells  me the rom won't load, so I must have the wrong format. Any hints? Or did I just download roms from the wrong site (theoldcomputer.com) ? Is there a specific place to get them that will work?

and

2) Still using game manager (I know, but plan to root and get rid of it soon). It works, but for PS1 games like Crash Bandicoot from the flash card, i have to move through directories to have it find the .bin file on the mntd extsd card location. Is there some setting I need to change so I don't have to do that?

Apologies in advance for being ignorant and please treat me as such. Imagine you are trying to explain to your mother how to change this setting and I should get it. Ha! thx

Sorry, new G16 user with a bigger problem than the earlier ones.

First day I had the device, the charger was emitting a high frequency sound when connected and it only charged the unit to the 30% mark or so.

Yesterday, I charged it over USB and it got to 99%. Played fine even through the evening.

Turned the screen off and went to bed.

This morning, I turned it on and got the "Connect your charger" message.

Problem: It isn't charging now through USB and not through the (what I suspect to be dead) charger either.

Ideas?

Am I probably having to box this up and send it back to willgoo? :-(

Willgoo is having me send the unit back to them. Hopefully, since they charged $8 USD for some sort of registered shipment from China / Singapore to the USA, I can find a relatively cheap method to do the same.

So, within 2 days, the wall charger for the YDPG16 died. No current coming out of the tip according to the multimeter. The YDPG16 charged for 2 days on USB, then quit charging and/or responding. It's dead.

I supplied pictures to Willgoo showing the multimeter connected to the YDPG16 charger where it showed no current, then a picture showing current registering through the USB cable and then a picture showing that cable hooked up to the YDPG16 with no response. That's when Willgoo said "Send it back". :-)

I will keep the forum informed of the way things go. It will be shipped back today (9/5/2012). Let's see when I have another in my hands. :-(

(For the record, I ordered from Willgoo precisely because they have such a good reputation for helping people out).

Haven't been on the boards in a while. G16 has been working fine until now. Now it won't connect to my wifi. Nothing has changed as far as network configs. It gets to authenticating IP and then won't connect. Sometimes resetting the device helps but so far, that doesnt even work now.

Hello, my name is Vanessa and Iīm new here. I got a G16 last week and did the tutorial posted on the first pages of this topic. Uninstalled game manager and other chinese programs using Titanium backup and the emulators I installed are working great, except Mame4all (both, the first version and the reloaded one).

In these emulators Iīm having problems to use the buttons (I can map them), the d-pad is okay but for make the other buttons working I need to press them very very hard. I donīt have this problem with the other emulators, does someone know how to solve ths issue with mame? Thanks in advance!

I'm working with the Gamekeyboard's developers trying to find a solve for this.

there is some issues working on some titles, running ICS. The touch emulation donīt work.
i suggest to you to send a mail to Locnet and give feedback to help him to solve this. (yes, i send all the feedback i can to help solving this)

USB/BT Joystick center have the same issues too.
