Well just got Doom 3 working on my S7300 and also on my HTC OneX (Tegra 3) for comparison. On the S7300 is is actually very playable, at least until things get hectic. Frame rate is ok but the graphics are stripped down, it looks like a posh Half Life! There are missing textures and pop in but overall nothing too bad for a beta of such an impressive engine. As usual with the ID Tech ports from n0n3m4 the controls map perfectly and everything feels just like playing it on a normal controller. The muzzle flash and smoke have missing textures which impedes gameplay, I'll have a play with this when I have time.On the OneX things are actually really good. It is smooth and the graphics can be ramped up, there are no missing textures I can see and it looks great. Still prefer it on the gaming tablet though due to the controls. Got it working with my Ipega pad (analogs are seen as keys though) and it's plays well. Still not fast enough to enable shadows but looks good.So that's something I didn't think I'd see for a while! For anybody that likes Quake games just try n0n3m4's engine ports, they're something else. The Play Store publisher is called Proger10. Btw unlike the previous games this one actually does need to be fully updated before you transfer the game folder over as it uses things from the latest update.
Paradroid and The Sentinel , both are old C64 / Amiga games...I still play them using emulators , but it would be cool to have new versions to play with...
I was lucky enough to have a geeky dad so I've played PC games since I was little back in the late 80s and early 90s. But I still can't really think of any PC games I'd want to bring to android. Let's see, balders gate and the neverwinter series and... I used to love civilization. The one exception has always been roguelikes. But I'd like to see some new developments and not try to play dcss with a touch screen.Console games have simply been better. I'd love to see Nintendo release an arcade app where we can buy and play old classics like Zelda oot, or the original nes games. I think snes was my favorite console but it's not like I can't play those now. Android needs some good multiplayer games like league of legends. I'm sure they could get one of those games to play nice with a controller.
They should just bring the levels over onto the Android Super Monkey Ball (ace game btw), that would do the trick.Thought of another one today - Stunt Car Racer! Funnily enough I thought of it after playing Trackmania DS so a port of that would be great too.
I would like to see Claw it was the first pc game i played, others would beUnreal tournament 1999Morrowind (first rpg I ever played)Wizardry 8 (i bought the copy way back but had no idea how to play it till I learnt)Arx fatalis (brilliant open world rpg) This one is on linux now and the source code has been released some talented dev could do it.
