Here's the complete FCC documents pertaining to the Shield Portable 2 with the Tegra X1 Processor. The documents contain not only pictures of the device but also the user manuals. Link provided below.

This is old news from February.
It was cancelled because nVIDIA don't want to upset Nintendo by releasing something that could potentially be a competitor to the Nintendo Switch.
We will never see a Shield Portable 2.

Nvidia is making a lot of money from Tegra sales to Nintendo. I doubt they would risk that. And it's pretty clear they canceled the X1 Shield Portable when they signed Nintedno. those docs go back a long time and it evapaourated at the time youd expect they signed on with Nintendo

Man obviously some people should think before opening their mouths wide, while keeping closed minds. If Nvidia didn't want to offend Nintendo in anyway they wouldn't have relaunched the Nvidia Shield TV some months ago, as it is a console and makes use of the Nvidia Tegra X1, same as the Nintendo Switch, and same as the Nvidia Shield Portable 2! I said possibly the Nvidia Shield Portable 2 will release this summer and be shown at E3.

Come on man , no need for that tone.

The point is that the Shield TV already existed and was being sold. It was just mildly updated with a new shaped controller. I think they even took away the uSD slot. Importantly it's not a portable and has no screen. So nothing new there.

As for the Shield Portable, it was to be launched ages ago as the docs indicate, obously it was held back for a reason. Think about that. If they were going to launch it, the time was ages ago when the docs show it was ready to. They don't hold a product after FCC approval for a year or so, normally the product comes out shortly after. I wouldn;t say it was a matter of offending either, my guess is that it was part of the negotiated contract with Nintendo. Of course this is all conjecture. So no need to get heated about it.

I also think shield portable 2 was probably canned because of Switch. But who knows, e3 is coming soon, so I guess We'll know it. Shield TV is more a streaming device than a console. It has emulators and other stuff, but I don't see it as competitor with the switch. I have one and I only use it for multimedia and streaming indeed,

Stop trying to play victim vcoleiro1, when you came at me sideways along with sony, with why you feel there's no possibility of a Shield Portable 2. And mind you continue to state the same thing as if you are the be all know all. Stating that Nvidia doesn't want to compete with Nintendo or offend them, with a Shield Portable 2. You got all in your feelings when I the OP of this post didn't agree with you ,and stated my own personal opinion, that the Nvidia Shield TV which is a console that connects to a TV and has a controller ;and features the Tegra X1 same as the Nintendo Switch. Is a competitor to the Nintendo Switch ,as others including myself see it as another console same as the Xbox and Sony brand consoles, which also have media features, all be it more a competitor to the Nintendo Switch as it features a Tegra X1. From this point on I will not acknowledge you or sony anymore. I have never stated it's a fact that the Shield Portable 2 is being released. I said possibly.

Update the Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 is out of stock and has been for awhile. Also in the User Guide part of the Nvidia Shield Portable 2 FCC documents dated 1/18/2017 which is the user guide it clearly states Tegra X1 and shows this was updated after 7/15/2016.

My opinion, the Jan 2017 date which is listed as the "Date Submitted" - represents the 6 month confidentiality period ending - thus the document then becoming available , ie not when it was updated. The doc was created and made available to the FCC at 14/15 Jul 2016, 6 months later on Jan 18th it was made available after the well publicised 6 month confidentiality period ending.
