@silvacrest

Have you tried switching to French? My computer has English locale and Belchine is a little wonky unless you switch to the French version.

Hi,

I tried to flash using "Format all + download" in SP Flash Tool to start on a clean slate, but now the system doesn't start any more, I get stuck after the boot animation...

Help much welcome!

finally managed to pay via the paypal invoice diablotinbouky sent

*just read that review, its mostly negative, complaining about the recessed buttons and lack of L2 and R2 and the decision to use sliders rather then true analog sticks

the good points are screen, no problem emulating except for dolphin, general performance is good, not much bloat apps

my main question to anyone who has the W1 is how are the sliders? are they more like a PSP or 3DS? are they any good either way? and does the buttons being recessed mean you hit your fingers on the sides all the time?

For sure more like PSP. I think 3DS has much smoother sliders. The ones on the W1 have the grip like pattern. I suppose maybe if you had large fingers you could hit the sides. However I really haven't had an issue with the sliders other then being a bit stiff. I have gave up using this as my mobile phone due to battery issues draining way to fast. I still delight in playing with it at home though.

Very helpful. I like having as much control over my device as possible.

You have helped with that.
Thanks.

@ka52 Thanks a lot, I figured out the eMMC menu in the Chinese recovery, but then lost my imei and baseband. Been trying to solve this for a couple of days, but your post sounds like a nice Christmas present!

Thanks for helping!

Have a merry Christmas!

Not that I know of.

Quick question for all: what's your dialer and contact apk? Default one is in Chinese. Been trying to find an alternative one. English. Free. Dual Sim ability.

I use 2gis dialer. And although it is better than the default (English), i did not test any dual Sim function. And when I try to add new contacts, it sometimes sends me to the default Chinese one. So I am not totally cool with it, and would like to switch. But I don't know what's good.

The dialer in the Much rom I had originally was in English, vanilla Jellybean. I switched to the 78dian ROM and don't have a backup unfortunately, but maybe it could be extracted from the rom.
