Oooh, I never had one with an SD slut ;) but seriously I think this thing has potential especially if they can redesign the firmware!
Yes, there is SD slot version available. For the firmware, I think it will be very easy to make a suitable one for you guys oversea.

By the way, we are going to release a group purchase for this device next week. We will arrange to send out customers's order once the total quantity reach 20 units. This will help us to restock this device in a good price. As I say, the manufacture will work with us to make out a firmware for us only we got enough big order.

What do you think of this idea? Can you give out your suggestion for us? Thanks.

Did you hear something new about this?

A test would be nice. Are the analogue nubs separate? How is the wifi? The usual questions from the usual people.

It looks like that people are no more interested in this device, maybe due to the high price...

I'd still be interested in giving this device a run through the tests and benchmarks.

@Willgoo: I'm really interested in this device, especially for games emulation (MAME/NeoGeo/CPS1-2-3/Genesis/GameGear/NES/SNES/GBA/N64/PS1). Please give us a test / benchmark on that. I'd like to have it support a wider range of video format(.FLV, .MOV, ...). And I dont want any of those chinese bloatwares since it's out of my understanding. If they can bring the price down to ~$150 that would be excellent to compete against PS Vita. Please hurry Willgoo !

I understand you. But the price $150 is not possible. The cost price that you can check on their official site is: RMB 1500=$250. The price is too high. We are afraid that people will not buy it because of its high price. At the same time, I think it is like a Android device not a retro handhelds. Personally speaking, I will not recommend you this device.

It is way too high considering the neogeox was just announced to be $199 with a docking station that has tvout and a real neogeo joystick and best of all a sd card slot. I hope someone does something with this now that the price point is awesome.

There are 2 versions :
- a 3G console
- a console without 3G but with a Sd slot ( I do not know the price)

They plan to release a 4 cores device in october this year and open the company to the export markets. Maybe we can then expect some better prices.

Yeah, the price is a little steep, isn't it? If they made a stripped down version with all the useless stuff taken out, that could work. No way I'm spending 250 for one of these.

Hey Everyone.

I have been reading these forums for months now and am posting for the first time.  I bought this device (Much IReadyGo)  a few weeks ago and it finally arrived today!  I will be posting a review of the device in the next few days once I have had some time with the device.

Right off the bat I can say that this device is very high in quality (and obviously very expensive).  The screen is very nice, the buttons are very nice, the analogue nubs are more in line with the quality found on the 3DS (much better in quality than the s5100's analogue nub.  Not sure if the nubs are separate from the d-pad or not.. Like I said, I just got it and will have more time to play with it over the next couple of days. This thing is heavy! heavier than the PS Vita, very well made.  Also, the screen is even with the case (like with the PS vita).

So while I am playing around with this thing.. what kind of things would you like me to test out and comment on?

I do not think it has a good perfromence on Emulator games. You can test it on playing GBA, PSX, N64, SNES/NES and other emulator games. It is hard to use the anolog stick to control.

Download KeyTest.apk to check if the analog and dpad are giving separate keycodes:
https://github.com/downloads/chrisboyle/keytest/KeyTest.apk

Did you get the 3G model?  If not, does the WiFi model actually have an SD slot?

Check availability of common apps from Play store.  Facebook, chrome skype etc...

Check out emulator performance for N64 and PSX.

Thanks in advance.

Quick update about the controls and the sdcard

Good news:  no problems with overlapping buttons like with the s5100.  Running and jumping in super mario is no problem.

Badish news:  I downloaded and installed the key assign application and the nubs have no assigned values (but the d-pad does?)  The nubs do work with a few select games that came installed on the device so it is possible to get them working.  On the official website's forum for this device, there is a "key mapping zone" section in which I have seen some talk about custom key mapping, so I am not sure if there is a solution there or not (need more time to investigate).  You can find the forum here.. http://bbs.much3g.com/forum.php?mod=forumdisplay&fid=62

Bad News: The knuckleheads who designed this device decided to make the right face button (circle on psx controller)  the same value as back!  it isn't a huge problem except for fpse which uses the back button to bring up the menu.  Not sure if this is some kind of software issue or a hardware issue.  Also, I got the Wi-Fi version and there is an SD card slot.  When I put my card in the slot, an icon appears at the top, but I cannot find the sdcard when file browsing. (mnt/sdcard/)  instead it brings up the internal storage?  In the options menu, there is no mount/unmount sdcard option, it only shows the internal storage.  So maybe this is a firmware problem?

Great News:  All emulators seem to work great (even n64 and psx).  Will go into more detail later.

Will post more updates later.
