It's incredibly ugly. I don't like the position of dpad and analogs. If they wanted to clone nvidia shield, they could have done better than this I think. At least they could have included RK3288 to make the difference.

i don?t like clamshell style devices in general. In fact, i sold my NVidia Shield, because i didn't liked their shape and weight, but this one appear to be more light and less "monster" than Shield.

i don?t like the small sticks (similar to JXDS7800B?). Why they did not put a normal sized nub Stick?

there is no HDMI? (the same as the previous iPega 5" device...)

the smal slot on the front side... is for cooling system? this device come with active cooling system (fan)?

I think it's style over substance. Case in point: the speakers, even though they are supposed to project L/R stereo, are more back-and-forward rather than left-and-right. That right there is a good indication that this device was designed based on a concept art rather than on an engineer figuring out what needs to go where.

Unfortunately, this also affects the controls, in which the buttons are quite far and above the analogs, rather than close and diagonal for easier gaming.

The ergonomics of the device are also dubious - I highly doubt those little bulges on the sides have grips.

Anyway, that's enough on the shape of it. As mentioned previously by skelton, it's incredibly underpowered. The rk3188 used mali400 which was even underpowered WHEN IT CAME OUT, and we're 2 years after that point. It's time to move on to bigger better chips, preferably ones that can at least compete with Tegra 4.

So... yeah. I wouldn't recommend it to anybody.

questions:
the screen is ips?
microUSB port is MHL? (can get hdmi output through this port?. i figure not, but if you can test and confirm, will appreciate)
dpad is a good dpad? i mean, this can be answered by fighting palyer, that really can feel if the dpad is working well. (are you a fighting player?)
how about the battery life?
how about the weight and size, comparing to NVidia Shield?
the clam surface, is very easy to get scratched? (like NVidia Shield?)
is passive or active cooler system?
how about hot zones? you can appreciate some of them?
can you take photos of this, comparing with other know devices?

questions, questions, queeeestions... i have for this device. XD

A brief review by anybody would be appreciated, there is not much information about this.

Hell, even some quick bullet points about DPAD quality, battery life, USB charge and Antutu rating would be nice.

Also, does this thing really have a fan?! For a 3188? Maybe this is why they have put a 5100 mA battery!

Just seeing the position of dpad and frontal buttons, I doubt that this device can be confortable to use.

What caught my attention with this Ipega PG-9501 is its battery .  At 5200mAh its almost twice the size of the 2800mHh battery used in the GPD G5A.  IT's even bigger than the battery used in the GPD G7

So I'd be very interested to find out the battery life of this.

Also, TFT and IPS are not mutually exclusive things.  I think you guys are actually referring to IPS vs TN(ie not TFT)

You're quite right. However, it appears most online retailers make this distinction. We're all just perpetuating it for the sake of consistency :)

Was that from a starting point of 100% charge?

If it did start out at 100% that would mean (assuming) without WiFi the total battery life would be about 9-10 hours

Wow, so near 10 hours battery life.  That's awesome.

I must admit, I like the clamshell design, as you can close it up and throw into a bag without worrying if the screen will be broken by other things moving around in your bag.

It also has a lot of benefits over the similarly priced GPD G5A

1)  Much bigger battery 5200mAh vs 2800mAh
2)  2GB memory vs 1GB memory
3)  A 1280x720 res screen vs a 800*480 res screen
4)  16GB storage as opposed to 8GB storage
5)  Android 4.4 vs Android 4.2
