I do not know if this is possible. But I think it will make the video output more excellent if we install XBMC on MK808, UG802 and other Android TV Box with RK3066. Is this possible? How can we do it? Have anyone tried it?

Willgoo are planing to install XBMC to the current hottest Android TV BOX, which will make these gadgets interesting. Can you guys share your ideas on it?

Did they fix the no hardware acceleration problem yet? Without hardware acceleration you cannot stream 720 and 1080p across a network without it being choppy?

I am so glad to hear that you got XBMC run on UG802. I wonder which files you install? Can you use the UG802 to watch the 720P and 1080P video? If possible, can you show us the video that you use XBMC on UG802. I think this will help us to intall XBMC on UG802 and the upcoming UG007. Thanks.

It's been a while, but I think that a "fix" was to have xbmc use an external video player, i.e. call a second program.

This is what was done for the allwinner a10, omxplayer IIRC.  Might check the ovalelephant.com (IIRC google oval elephant) forums, as they also now also sell one of those RK3066 based sticks along with the MK802 v2(allwinner a10) and an amlogic based little settop box(meson-m3).

Might also try j1nx's site, j1nx.nl as he had some info on this buried in there somewhere either his blog or the forums.

[EDIT]
You made me curious as to what oval elephant has these days, but anyways, the answer's supposed to be in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30817864&postcount=550
but I'm pretty sure that he linked to the wrong post...

Still, I do not know whether UG802 or MK808 can install the XBMC.

Well, I actually went and did some additional digging (fairly lightly ATM, thinking of ordering one of these and/or the amlogic-m3 "smart tv box"), and the only current "solution" appears to be to use the nightly NEON builds or setup xbmc to handoff video playback to what I would guess to be a Rockchip supplied video playback app or some sort of "licensed" playback app.

ATM I can't find the instructions, oval elephants forums are spammed to all hell (something like 4000+ posts have appeared in the week or so since I last checked, ALL SPAM) and most of j1nx's forum messages & blog comments seem to have disappeared since he switched software/servers.  Might still be in the Amlogic meson-m3/"smart tv box" posts but IIRC it was actually in a comment...

[EDIT]
Oops, meant the mk802/"oval elephant minipc"/smallart Uhost posts as it's another one w/o VPU support ATM.

XBMC could work on smallart mini android PC Uhost2.
But remember that XBMC itself is something in alphasy  phase, not the official release stage.

As mentionied earlier xbmcandroid has a couple of nice turorials. This is a nice one showing you how to use an external player (to avoid the slowdowns) and configure the interesting plugins: http://www.xbmcandroid.com/2012/12/10/how-to-install-xbmc-nightly-with-external-player-on-the-mk802-stick-or-other-android-tv-devices/
