Author Topic: HELP: What is currently the best current gaming handheld on the market?  (Read 697 times)

I own the JXD s7800b and love it, but it has a few issues.
-the volume button is broken because it is on the side where I hold the device
-The button layout is reversed (a is where b should be) and doesn't have standard x/y buttons like most android games use these days, instead using c and d, which are also reversed when playing android games, making games difficult
-can't play a lot of newer emulators at a decent frame rate
-has a pin charger instead of a usb charging port
-resolution is only like 1280x800

These are just a few negatives about my fun little device.
I want to find a suitable upgrade
I was looking into the JXD s192 a year ago, but never bought it, and now I can't find it anywhere. It seems to have been discontinued.
It's pretty bad when you can't even find it on ebay.

So I was wondering if someone could point me to alternative devices similar to the JXD 7800b, but more modern and powerful.

Thank you.

GPD XD my friend...the GPD XD. It's currently my favorite emu handheld that exists. There are others a bit more powerful but for the money, I think it's the best way to go these days.

I have looked that up, and it doesn't seem much more powerful than JXD 7800b, and still only has 2gb of ram.

Also the screen resolution is not 1080p which I would really like to upgrade to.  And the screen size is to small.

I am not worried about the money, I just want to know what the most powerful one I can get is.

The S192 looked really appealing to me because of the 1080p screen, and the control sticks looked really comfortable to use when playing 3d games.

The gpd has little nubs like the 3ds which I can't stand.

Also, is there a good dual screen android tablet. DS roms are a real pain on regular gaming tablets. there has to be at least 1 that has a dual screen right?

Haven't seen any device with 2 screens other than the DS (and the Wii U if you count the controller screen). I can't think of anything on mobile that needs 2 screens other than DS emulation. Also, Android probably doesn't even support that, I don't see that working with the way apps are lanched and the way Android handles foreground and background apps.

No But I'd imagine getting a cheap second hand ds would not be difficult.

There is the Sony tablet P:

But old and slow hardware. You better get a second-hand DS.
