Look at slatedroid.com allwinner a10 section, rom porting is pretty easy

Thanks for the heads up.  Lots of useful info over there.  Looks like there's already a rough port of CyanogenMod to A10 devices as well.  Should be interesting.

Willgoo, next time you're testing, could you confirm whether the Google Play store works correctly (as opposed to the typical "Application not available on this device" errors) and also, would there be any chance of getting a copy of the stock firmware from the manufacturer?  Thanks again mate.
I do not see the "Application not available on this device" errors when I turn on this device. But I will test it more in Google Play store to see whether it can work well. But here in China, we are banned for many things. Thus, I may not see what you guys see.

For the firmware, we will ask the manufacture to copy one for us. This will be very important for you guys backup the system once you screw it. Please do not flash it before you do not get the backup firmware.

really i think is not important if you get "app not available...".
The really important is that google play is installed by default, and we avoid to investigate on how to install.

there are some ways to "hack" the market and get full access (or less limited).

the best way, changing device ID, add some permission to system/etc/permissions.

that's what it's commonly used in Allwinner devices.

I don't accept PM messages. I am tired of them. Use forum to consult me anything.

Haha no worries mate, I wont be looking for a refund if/when I brick it.  ;)
I'm hoping I can use SausageScript to install CWM out of the box, this way I will be able to rip my own backup of the firmware.  Just in case.  But a stock copy from the manufacturer would be brilliant!

There are some ways to the get applications regardless too, but I'm sure we'd all prefer to have it working legitimately if at all possible.

Thanks for the link.  I'm really just curious as to how "clean" the copy of ICS actually is.  I know that these China devices often have hacked together installs and if this is the case, I'd be interested in running a more "stock" rom.  Or even one of the more tried and tested mods (in the interest of battery life etc).

I have a lineup of friends waiting to see if this is any good, so I'll do a full test/review for everyone once it arrives.  Feel free to throw any questions my way as well.

i mean, there are many ways to "hack" market to get full access within the same device. i'm not talking about "hacking" apps. I avoid to use hacked apps, and i'm against these activities or related.

as skelton says, a way is to change device ID (change fingerprint) to get access to the market as another device, and get more apps to install.

I hope I have clarified the misunderstanding (I'm not english spoken, and may be expressed in wrong way myself)

greetings!

Willgoo this looks a nice console and if the analog is really un-linked from D-Pad we got ourselves a WINNER!

This is one console to get the hands on! Looks promising

I have to agree with GuMossad. This could be the real deal. The different scancodes and Samurai II in the demo video are promising.

Just got mine a few minutes ago. The build is nice and THE CONTROLS ON ALL JOYSTICKS AND BUTTONS ARE DIFFERENT! Only thing is that they do not seem to be as responsive as I would like. I am going to play with it a while before I give final judgement on the controls. It runs pretty nice so far though. Touch screen is not as good as the yinlips ydpg18a but it looks better. It is a 5 point touch screen. It even comes with a guide on how to update the firmware via livesuit. I hope these controls break in. This could be a great little device

Are the analog inputs actually analog inputs, as in can you hold the analog stick down half-way and the game responds properly, or is it a digital input?

And how well is N64 emulation? I'm thinking about picking one up tonight, but I want to know if I can play OoT and some of my other favorite games at full speed with sound..

Someone finally got it all right. As soon as I get some cash, this is mine.

At this point, I'm not picky about true analog, as long as the sticks are mapped to something other than the D-Pad and buttons.
