The 5100 looks great, love the buttons, d-pad and general form factor, just don't know if it has shoulder buttons or not.

These systems do look very tempting especially with that d-pad but early reports from an itallian site says no shoulder buttons on the S5100.  Not sure if that's true or not since there's noot too much info out there yet.

Would love to know if that analog pad is truly analog or if it just mimics the d-pad, that in itself may make up for it if it has no shoulder buttons

If you could inform us as to whether this device does actually have shoulder buttons or not, that would be great! Let me know if you have a spare sample unit floating around, I'd love to do a review of it. 8)

How can a real analog make up for missing shoulder buttons? I agree it looks lovely, but missing shoulder buttons is far more serious a flaw than a fake analog stick.

+1 with the true analog/shoulder buttons questions.

The 3DS style analog is great to use (much better than PSP style) but there's little point if it is just an alternative Dpad.
Handhelds:
JXD S7300b, Dingoo, DS Lite, GBA SP, PSP, HTC One X, HTC Dream.
Netbooks/Palmtops:
Acer 522 (4gb ram) Radeon 6310 - MSI Wind U230 (4gb ram and DTV card installed)
Psion Series 5 and 5mx, Psion Series 3 and Psion Siena

JXD is really ridicoulous with their statement :
"Appearance patent, counterfeiting not allowed
Patent number: ZL 2012 3000 7608.9
"

The King of pirated software and PSP design now protect their product  :o

All their products just had a price raise...
Considering the out-of-date SOC they use, they look a bit pricey

Disclaimer : i really like my S601 and S5110.

Hi Willgoo

The 5100 does look fantastic but no shoulder pads are a big mistake.

What everyone wants is:

Full working Analog Controller
A Digital D-Pad - not 4 separate buttons for up, down, left and right
2 Shoulder Buttons

Have all of  these and I will definitely buy a new system, until then I will stick with the Dingoo.

Yea that 5100 with 5 point capacitive touch looks reaaaaaaly good as long as it has shoulder buttons ... I hope they don't screw it up...  they're so close this time

I think that the Yinlips YDPG18A is extremely close. If it had working analogue, I would definitely buy it.

Same goes for this console (assuming it has shoulder buttons)

unless they change the case it doesnt.
but i gotta say ill buy the s602 for a reasonable price simply because i love how it looks (and i dealt with worse things than no shoulders... i mean there are still volume buttons arent they?)

I think the V5200 beats this, in features and looks. Head to Head wifi connect is why I chose it.

s602 and v5200 are similar in terms of processor. At least v5200 have a good performance, but the unknown SoC by Sunplius used in this machine is a bit handicap, since developing for this console is quite complicated (I mean modifying kernels, Custom ROMS, etc..) But just for playing is a good system.
I don't accept PM messages. I am tired of them. Use forum to consult me anything.
